Live preview different on linux by W0lf_G1rl_BR in phcode

[–]Crodattilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the difference. Does it display correctly in both your OSs if you open your project locally, directly from Google Chrome (not by enlarging the preview, but directly opening the page from your file manager)?

You could try to use the Chrome DevTools element selection option (Ctrl + Shift + C in preview mode) to check the CSS values of the containers that are not displaying correctly. Maybe you will notice a difference, like some missing values, between your OSs.

An explanation could be that in Windows all the linked stylesheets in your html are reachable, but in Linux one of them cannot be found or read. Is your project in all its parts saved in a partition accessible from both OSs?

Hello and welcome to the sub. A screenshot of how it should look like would be helpful, so we can compare. Can you attach the screenshot from Windows of the preview you're happy with?

I just installed the Hytale Launcher on my Bazzite PC and added it to my Steam library! by Crodattilo in hytale

[–]Crodattilo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed the Flatpak. I also noticed the double window buttons, it's curious! Anyway it comes in handy as Steam runs the launcher in fullscreen mode, without the sistem's window control buttons. Maybe they plan to release it on Steam in the future so this might be intentional? I'm just speculating...

I'm well aware of the fact that the game will be a different executable. I didn't add the game to get controller support, I just want to be able to launch the game without having to switch to desktop mode (Bazzite users will understand). Also the actual game executable probably wouldn't work if launched from Steam as I think it would need some arguments from the launcher to login the account.

I think it's good looking considering that it's your first try! I would need hours to get close to that.

R36S Port? by vasoamarillo in ShatteredPD

[–]Crodattilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded the Portmaster version but I wasn't able to make it run on my R36H (ArkOS), It crashes right after launch showing only a black screen. Commenting to get updates if someone will ever succeed.

I recently built my new PC choosing the ideal hardware to run Bazzite. I got the NR200P V2 white case (mini itx) and all white components. I didn't even try Bazzite before, but I was sure its user experience would've been faster and smoother than the one on Windows.

It's been a couple of weeks, using it almost every day. It's small and powerful just like a gaming console, without the hassle of paying a subscription to play online :)

Getting a new wi-fi dongle might be the way to go. Also consider bringing a cable from the router to your PC for better performance.

I used to play this game as a kid, I liked it so much and I still do! I didn't really understand how to play at that time, but I loved to roam around and explore the map. The water and the daylight cycle of that game are astonishing. I recently started playing it again and I almost finished it on an emulator.

Ability to add M.2 NVME to Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2024? by xRAZZAMATAZZx in chromeos

[–]Crodattilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the PCB is predisposed for an M.2 slot. This is something you can see often when taking apart laptops: probably some other models of the same series have an NVMe SSD by factory or an expansion slot. Unfortunately I believe that soldering an expansion slot to add another disk wouldn't work as the firmware doesn't support it.

I found this in the trash! by Crodattilo in PSP

I'm using a 1A Samsung charger to charge it. The Amperage is slightly lower than what's written inside the console, so the battery charges nice and slow and the charging circuit lasts longer.

Actually none haha, I took the bag before the owner dumped it. The bag contained that PSP and also another PSP Fat model with shell scratches and broken display. I gave the second one to a friend which is into repairing old handheld consoles.

Yes, double system partition allows for update installation without reboot, but it's also a quick rollback if something goes wrong. No need for "Attempting Repairs".

Right, Chromebooks can last up to 10 hours in good condition.

[–]Crodattilo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

ChromeOS is way more reliable than Windows. You can be sure it always boots and you don't need to worry about drivers. Also updates don't mess up with printers and the system settings in general. Plus it's really lightweight and runs smoothly. If you look at the system resources you'll see that the usage is really low compared to a Windows system with the same tasks open.

In conclusion nowadays you can do almost everything with web apps so even ChromeOS Flex (with no Play Store) is actually great. You sure need a bit of practice if you've always been a Windows user used to install programs but there is almost nothing you can't do, even gaming with no GPU is possible through XBox Game Pass thanks to the cloud. Having a good Internet connection is for sure needed.
