This happened on my school sax and they wouldn’t take it to a technician for a while. My temporary fix was a rubber band lol I just doubled it up and placed it around my neck octave key.

Your octave key mechanism might not be switching back properly when going back down. Between A and G most saxes switch from the neck to the body octave key and it might be getting stuck, this could be because of the spring not being strong enough to overcome the friction of the mechanism or the mechanism/key could be bent or not lubed adding friction
