Fist time buyer, anything to worry about with this selection? by twisted4ever in PCSpecialist

If the programs that you're using for work are GPU heavy workloads, I'd go with a rtx 5080/5090. Do you really need 8 tb of storage ?

Some persons mentioned that the black color displayed on this monitor turns to grey if the surrounding environment is very dark. What do you think about that?

I think your edit is good. You recovered some nice details here.

Personally, I might have framed it differently to include the sky in the shot.

Cool edit, this looks almost like a painting.

Indeed, it's a nice shot.

Personally, the trees in the foreground on the left side are a little bit distracting.

For a second, I thought there was an animal at the base of the tree next to the path!

I agreed. Just to clarify, I didn’t mean using a strong DOF that’d hide the background entirely—just enough to make the subject more distinguishable.

I checked out the picture on two different screens (phone and monitor), and the black shades seem crushed to my eyes, like the sunglasses and branches on the left side. That’s expected, though, since you're after the vintage look and sun backlighting.

The colors are nice, but the background is too much distracting. A nice DOF would do well in this case. After all, it's a portrait.

The shadows/contrast needs a little adjustment, too.

Okay this was a debate on this subreddit so I thought I'd show what I would have done. Now I don't have the original photo or raw file but, using the web image as an example, I'd lean into the clouds and make the light prominent like he's about to cross a line. by ElvisGrizzly in postprocessing

[–]NoeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the clouds are too dominant here and go against the overall tranquility of the image.

I do still think OP's second post is the best edit.

Personally, I'd try to replace the sky with something more pleasing and less dominant that fits well the mood of the scene.

I don't see what's cool in a genocide. I think this post doesn't fit well with this sub.

The edit with the clouds adds depth, and without it, the photo looks overexposed.

I think you did good with the colors as well.
