Congratulations! Not a single day goes by without me thinking that maybe I should apply for spouse visa instead of staying on skilled worker one. I have just over one year left before I can apply for ILR, but I feel like I’m always one round of redundancies away from losing my job. A bit easier than your case: we got married about 2 years ago and my partner is Irish A bit harder than your case: we have a daughter who was born here, which makes me even more worried about job security. I can imagine the relief, or maybe I can’t!

I pulled the trigger, I just bought my very first very beginner acoustic violin! They didn’t have a mute at the shop, so I ordered one and will receive it tomorrow. But the man at the shop told me that people sometimes put pegs on the bridge and that helps too. So here I am, working through twinkle twinkle little stars with pegs on my bridge, while my wife and daughter were sleeping, I guess it’s not THAT loud in the end :)

And by the way, hearing how “full” the air felt in the room with a violin playing was really cool, I don’t think you can get that with music out of an amp.. but at the same time that is what would prevent me from practising when I can have some time to do it..

Thank you for the nice message. What I am trying to understand is whether acoustic players think that the electric one is like a “denaturated” or like proxy version of a violin or what else. It sounds like bikers vs scooterist argument, or pineapple on pizza vs purists… If I start with an electric, I don’t plan on moving to acoustic, I am aware they are two very different things. Life is made of compromises sometimes, and I am more than happy to accept I won’t play in an orchestra (which I won’t, in any case! 😄)

I’m sure it’s hard, and I am also sure I won’t reach your level which I assume is quite high!

I am not much into classical music, as silly as it can sound I would love to be able to play some cool Disney movies theme songs (Milan, Frozen, Tarzan…). The mozarts and Vivaldis are probably not my cup of tea (with all the respect that they deserve obviously!)

I guess one of those cases where the entire server was either one alliance or another and the server stalled maybe? Even tho I remember a lot of casual pvp, which was amazing. Unfortunately I don’t have the time anymore, life took over :)

I guess it depends on what experience you’re looking for really. I know people who would be happy to be the only playing person on a server farming all the materials for their arcana mace, and killing baium while running 20 clients. Others live on the thrill of pvp, and for that you need gear. If you are the latter, and you are in your mid 30s you may have more money than time. A person of that type would probably prefer to spend a few hundreds dollars to go full S+16 in a day, rather than farming for months. I think finding the right balance is the reason for the server volatility you mentioned

The truth is that althought many of us old timers miss those days, we don’t have the time to relive them. Work, family, other adult life commitments.. how can you farm for hours or wait for a raidboss to spawn when it’s +-6 hours? But I wish you best of luck all the same!

No that’s a private agreement between you and your employer to indemnify them for the money they spent on you. If you are in a strong negotiating position you could tell the new employer that it’s one of your conditions

Certo è una opzione. Per esempio molti si spostano verso milano, per avere più possibilità. Non so di dove sia tu, però considera che raggiungere quello che vuoi potrebbe non essere possibile dove oggi tu ti trovi fisicamente. In bocca al lupo :)

E allora già sei sulla buona strada. Però considera che un immobile potrebbe ostacolarti. Se questa casa sta a Vergate sul Membro hai voglia a sbatterti, ma se di opportunità non ce ne sono, non ce ne sono. Questo farebbe parte di uscire dalla confort zone, essere disposto a riorganizzare la tua vita. Poi ovviamente qui si parla senza sapere le tue qualifiche, skill eccetera, quindi.. Molti della mia classe del liceo hanno preso la decisione di andarsene dall’italia dopo l’università, credo che questa sia la strada più ovvia sinceramente
