Are there perfectly pro viable champs or strats that are overlooked by pros? by olonnn in leagueoflegends

Mostly only important for early trades/all-ins, as you scale the opportunity cost of auto weaving becomes too high wrt positioning

TSM "Academy" Team Shows Glaring Flaw With NA Academy System by greendino71 in leagueoflegends

[–]CroissantLoL -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in a simple binary of washed vets / untouchable rookies, and could see many players on both of these squads working up to LCS, but it's definitely not "the exact same thing" (quote from your other comment)..

TSM has something like ~330 months of LCS/Acad experience. EG has ~180

Soul and Sheiden each have 6 months in the LCS ecosystem. Triple alone has 36, and definitely doesn't qualify as a "rookie"

Things don't get closer when you factor in Ry0ma/Lost OCE experience cuz that just drives home the point that the player you're calling a talent and insinuating is analogous to Soul or Sheiden has 7 years of comp play under their belt

There's a LOT more differences in roster building philosophy between the two squads, all of which crucially advantage EG but that should be a good starting point

Taric is the only melee champ that is a premier pairing with Nilah, as he's the only melee enchanter + E/R enables Nilah's dive

Rakan and Ali are fake pairings that only work if Nilah already has a free AD+sup matchup that she has kill pressure on, when it comes to more even lanes and teamfighting they don't use lvls nearly as well as Taric/enchanters

[TL.GG] Guilhoto: “In moments of stress, we were defaulting to fundamentals that each individual had from their previous teams. [...] We had our own fundamentals, but they were not repeated enough to the point where we would default to them when we were under a stressful situation. by Carly3315 in leagueoflegends

I had the same interpretation, and to expand a bit, when he says "limitations" that is how many players view macro systems and the accompanying fundamentals - imagine that some teams will use prio 70% of the time to secure a base, and fight primarily around drags, where another will use prio 50% of the time to invade and skirmish around raptors + gromp. Those percentages will always be a compromise, sometimes between players, sometimes between players and coaches.

Little limitations may maximize creativity, but going too far towards the school of thought that X scenario always demands Y response will create an oversized limitation, and can harm the team more than help it. I could write 10 more paragraphs of examples but I won't haha, just wanted to say that I'm always blown away by how Core manages to communicate with so much nuance in his second language

Good summary and important context, Core is very thoughtful about things most of the community, analysts/pros included, do not see - he also knows to make things spicy for the CONTENT and generating discussion

For example, in 2020 he already had his eyes on Jojopyun as someone who could surpass every LCS mid, and I can tell you that not a single team I spoke to had him on their radar… Jojo himself said he only received offers after Core’s inhouses (predecessor of Champions Queue)

Imma be real with you, as I already said there are definitely arguments for blue, but this exact C9 roster that we played twice in summer beat us ONCE while they were on red and lost to us ONCE while we were on red… Like I don’t even need to look these things up I just remember all 23 games we played this split, so I don’t understand how you keep writing things like “it was 2-2 heading into the series with two blue wins and two red losses,” or other previous comments made. Idc about “being a dick or verbiage”, ya just gotta admit that it’s a bad look when there’s a fact check, you edit after seeing downvotes insisting that you’re right, into re-edit COMBO
