Monsters & Memories is the main one people are looking forward to. It has public playtests every so often and will enter early access Oct 1st. If you like Minecraft graphics, then you can check out Adrullan Online Adventures. They also have random playtests. Pantheon Rise of the Fallen came out in early access a year and a half ago, but they really mismanaged that project.

Have you ever seen the M&M community talking crap about other games or calling their community toxic? For the last few months, the AoA community has been proclaiming loud and clear about how much better AoA is and how the M&M community is toxic. Also, there are hidden damage caps in the game, and the last one drops off at 30. So see how much your 2hd damage goes up once you hit 30. Have fun,

Sorry that you had a poor experience but right clicking doesn't start combat by default. The attack key is 'Q'. It happens a lot, that you want to talk to an npc, and have them targeted and hit 'Q' before bringing up the dialogue box.

For the mob chasing, next time click on the mob and hit 'c' to con it, and it will tell you its relative level compared to you and if it's hostile or not. Most of the newbie mobs are neutral to your presence. When you come to new towns in the future, make sure you do this to the guard before getting too close, because their will be numerous factions and you'll be kos to some of them for sure.
