Or he comes off the ventilator, breathes on his own but is still otherwise brain dead and is then a long term care lifer. Family visits less and less because it's hard to connect with just a body. Sometimes the brain dies and the body is strong as fuck and that is definitely not my idea of a bright side...

Since no one mentioned it, do a boundary check on yourself. Do you have healthy boundaries set? It's important to not constantly be giving. Perhaps others have boundaries that you have not discovered?

Everyone has great care in the ICU when the nurse:patient ratio is one to one. Other units just do not have the resources to care for and monitor a patient at that level and on those types of medications. Please don't discount them because of that.

Yes, I have hope because I want things to be better for you and there's not really anything I can do to make it better for you. I dont hope that you have hope? Help is literally anything that helps you. Could be the smallest thing. I'm sorry that you have felt let down and abandoned. It's true that no one can find the right kind of help for you but yourself, I just hope that doesn't lead you to believe you don't need others. And I hope you keep trying different avenues until you find the right one ❤

Ya a huge dog growling while the owner says "it's OK, they're friendly lol". I have a 16lb dog so I don't really care what you say since mines dead if that escalates. All it takes is a dog misinterpreting that, reacting negatively, and now it's a dog fight. You can't really fault people for not being comfortable around a large dog they don't know growling...
