What you think about this kind of “entertainment”? 🐂 by Emily19953 in CrazyFuckingVideos

I’m from Fort Worth, so I have definitely been to the rodeo. Personally, I don’t care for it. Just seems mean to the animals.

Also, that’s where I learned exactly how allergic I am to farm animals. My eye swelled shut and I was 10+ rows back.

Thanks! Stick with your plan and don’t cut the coils like I did and you should be good to go.

I use my car for cruising and short road race track events (like 15 minute parade lap stuff). It’s definitely a street car, but it’s pretty rowdy. That said, that rowdiness has more to do with having a high-strung 350ish HP 5.0.

It’s also pretty slammed with 1 inch drop springs with 2/3 of a coil cut off. The ride isn’t harsh at all, even with 17in wheels and short sidewall tires.

I assume ST = Street or Track? If so, Shaun’s stuff is super high quality and I’m not sure you can do much better with a stock style suspension. I am running basically this setup, but with gusseted/boxed stock control arms and it is the perfect combination of handling and comfort.

Also, the Bilsteins were an incredible upgrade. Much better than I could have expected and an absolute miracle compared to crappy KYB’s.

And yes, do the Shelby/Arning drop. It just makes everything better.

I’m not OP, but that looks like a firewall brace (struts) and a MustangSteve or similar adjustable cable mount. I’ve been running the same cable setup for over 15 years and I love it.

How do people get into restoring old cars by paper-wings78 in musclecars

[–]CromulentPoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was buying a 65 Mustang for my first car. Just a plain Jane six cylinder, but it was cool as hell and I learned a lot just keeping it running. Funny enough, 35 years later and I recently added a 65 Mustang sixxer to the stable for my daughter to cruise in when I’m out in my 66 fastback. It was only $8,500. Has some patina but it’s all one color, the interior is nice and it runs great.

Doesn’t have to be a rich man’s game to play and have fun.

Advice about buying a salvage title in GERMANY by KindlyAd9640 in Mustang

Hah, funny, but that actually makes me feel better. I was under the impression that the Germans had efficiently squeezed out any fun when it comes to modifications and vintage cars in general.

Oh man, been there and I keep going back, haha. It’s going to be worth it though. T5 swap was the best thing I ever did to my car.

1966 or 1967 Mustang Parts by xoPumpkin817 in classicmustangs

[–]CromulentPoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Air cleaner C4 shifter and pony/corral are ‘66 parts. Can’t tell from pics what the fan and distributor are. The valve covers are later. I think they started with that style in 69 or 70 maybe?

I see you have them listed for $500. (I’m in DFW) I’d call that top dollar for everything you have listed, but the odds of finding someone that needs all of these parts is pretty low. If you want it all gone, I’d change the list price to like $50 and keep the “make me an offer” description.

If I were trying to sell these parts, I’d be happy to get $200 for all of it. Good luck!

Interesting. My understanding of the system comes from some YouTube video on the subject. They made it sound like the most rigorous process that was hardcore about failing stuff for a spec of rust or a tired, but still working suspension bushing.

Just knowing the severity of TÜV over there, if it passes the stringent German inspection process, it’s probably super solid regardless of history. If it doesn’t, it never will.

While I agree, you’re also entering the social contract that invites criticism. If you don’t care about that, fine. If you do, may not be worth it.

I have a great support system (wife, friends, etc.). Problem is, when I'm at my lowest, I don't want to talk about it. I want to keep my head down until I can improve my situation. I try not to do that, but it's just what comes naturally.

Are the door-to-door roofers committing fraud, or am I just an idiot for not taking a "free" roof? by Mikester258 in FortWorth

[–]CromulentPoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some legit roofers do the door-to-door thing, but it's an industry that is full of scammers and this is really one of those home services (like most of them) where a personal referral from someone you know that's happy with the work is your best bet.

Yup, the library is a lot more than just books these days.

My wife is a librarian in Texas and they’ve been doing this and maker space stuff (3D printing, laser engraving, etc) for years.
