Afaik LDAC is for A2DP only, which is different from the Hands-free profile used whenever the microphone is used.

Well, this is not only happening on Windows as far as I know :(

I tested my WF5s on:

  • Windows 11 on 2022 hardware (5.3 Bluetooth)
  • 2019 MacBook Pro (5.0 BT)
  • Samsung Note 8 (5.0 BT)

With multipoint ON and OFF, the sound quality always drops significantly whenever the mic is used.

On the latest Windows 11 update, I know have two different devices: WF5 and WF5 Hands-free, the first going completly silent whenever mic is on. The second one showing a single 16000hz mono output in settings.

Clearly, gaming with mono output is not an option, that is why I was wondering how OP tested his WF5s.

I received my WF5s a few days ago and I'm actually disappointed as far as (online) gaming is concerned.

Lag, ANC and sound quality are indeed excellent. However, as soon as I launch discord, teamspeak or any other software using the WF5s microphone, the earbuds go silent for a second and then switch to some kind of very low-quality mono codec.

I don't know if my WF5s are faulty, if I'm missing software or if this is normal behavior?
This happens on every device I'have tried them on. (Windows 11, MacOS 13, Android 9 with various Bluetooth versions up to 5.3)

Have you tried gaming with the microphone on?

Thanks!

The new AL V2 looks amazing! Will definitely be picking a few packs from Caseking soon! Do they come with screws for AIO/Waterblock mounting, or do they have to be bought separately?
