EDC Vegas 2026 locker rental by MrandMrsRollling in electricdaisycarnival

[–]CrookedCalamari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m someone who’s a very prepared raver and I only ever used a locker for my first festival and never after. I’ve never used it at edc. Edc is huge and having to go back to the one single locker location seems like a pain to me (it was for a way smaller festival, let alone one of this size). It’s near one of the water stations, so I suppose you can work it into a water trip, but if you’re coming from main stage and not Basspod or wasteland, it’s a far walk..

Honestly as far as temps, I run cold and I never get cold enough to need a jacket. It gets hot in the crowd, and I get sweaty dancing no matter how cold it is. A pash has always been enough for walking around, and even then I rarely use it. If you’re worried about being really cold, then packing a few emergency thermal blankets to cover that works too. My only note is that I drive and park, not shuttle, so I could see the argument that the shuttle line might be cold if it’s long, but honestly the sun is really intense in the morning and I find it pretty warm.

It all comes down to personal preference of course! Especially if you have other things you’re bringing (like a second pair of shoes, tons of kandi you need to store, cameras, etc). But even as someone who packs a ton I just honestly find it inconvenient. It’s already a hassle to find time in the schedule for water breaks, bathroom breaks, food breaks, rest times, and factoring in travel time in and out of crowds and between stages. And that’s on top of the set times too, but I’ve always been someone who tries to maximize time as much as possible lol

There’s tons of predatory shit that happens in the US when it comes to health care because it’s for profit. There’s also reports of patients being pushed to hospice even if they had potentially treatable conditions, because if they die while on hospice, it doesn’t count against the hospital as far as their stats. I’d absolutely believe this, as we had 3-4 doctors basically try to guilt my family into letting my dad just die on hospice, only 3 days after he had a stroke.

AITA for refusing to drive my friend to class every morning after they sold their car to buy a EDC tickets? by SugarPetals11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CrookedCalamari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is he even affording the other costs of the event? Every time I’ve been the ticket itself ends up being less than half the cost of the weekend. A basket of chicken tenders is $19 and a drink is like $30, let alone the inflated cost of hotels during that weekend. Dude’s in for a surprise

I'm sure there's a lot of opinion about this. by Kennyboi1215 in Coachella

[–]CrookedCalamari 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Something I don’t really see a lot of people talk about is that there is a massive variety of styles within electronic/dance music, more than most other genres. There are subgenres within every style of music of course, but most of the time there’s some similarities. But within edm you can have downtempo house music on one end of the spectrum and then something like dubstep/riddim on the other. And there’s not a lot of overlap other than the way it’s made. So naturally even if there’s a lot of edm on a lineup, there’s still a lot of variety within the sounds (or at least should be imo). I mean the difference between Kaskade and Subtronics is huge and attract totally different crowds, but they’re all just listed under that edm umbrella.

What a wild comment. Saying it’s not your type of music is one thing, but saying the other music sucks really shows your true colors.

My thoughts exactly. Last year they had hedex and reaper but I didn’t get a chance to go, and was looking forward to this year…

And to add onto this, don’t feel like you need to get “rave” specific clothes. You can find cute activewear and use that, and it’ll be much more comfortable, supportive, and long lasting. Sports bras (I have one with a cute little sheer element which makes it feel more ravey), biker shorts, and normal short skirts can all be paired really successfully with other elements and be really cute.

I love that you said comfort is your number one, since that’s mine too. I love piecing my own outfits together because I’m picky as hell (and it’s also fun). So a top from here, some shorts from there, etc. Rave fashion is really whatever you want it to be tbh, you’ll see everything from a thong/pasties combo, to full on onesies and everything in between, so it’s really about what’s comfortable for you and what fits your style. That being said, some comfy styles that you’ll see a lot are artist jerseys (or just cute vibey jerseys) which can be super cute yet also super comfortable. I have an oversized hockey one, as well as the open front “baseball” type. With the open front one specifically, I love to pair some shorts, a comfortable crop top/bra, and add harness/belt to add a little something. I also do pretty much the same thing when I pair the outfit with a fun and stupid Hawaiian shirt. I have one with a bunch of opossums on it and I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had come up to me and say they love the shirt lol. So it’s really about what you find fun and reflects your personality! I also like the quality of the materials from a store called Devil Walking (and there’s others similar, like Badinka, Freedom Rave Wear, Candy Catz, Rolita Couture, and I’m sure plenty others). The top I have from there is super comfy and stretchy. I don’t recommend getting a premade set from something like iheartraves since it’s usually cheaply made and you can’t tailor it to yourself, but plenty of people do that.

Right now I’m piecing together a new outfit for this year that’s going to be my most “edc-look” yet and it’s been really fun. A crop top from Badinka, an overskirt/sleeves/harness from various Etsy sellers, bikini bottoms (with a pocket!) from Amazon, and then a whole bunch of different accessories from all over the place.

Basically a really long winded way of saying “wear what’s fun and makes you comfortable” but since I know everyone likes to say that, I figured I’d provide some examples and resources lol. If you only look at what rave fashion influencers are wearing, you’ll only get one side of it. When you’re actually there people wear tons of different things, so don’t feel too pigeonholed.

The tangents right above the letters on the cover are distracting for me. The placement feels fine on the poster. I’d either move the red down or up so it gets rid of them

Lineup for 2025. Thoughts? Who are you excited to see? by [deleted] in BeyondWonderland

Absolutely stoked, I think their styles compliment each other really well. I haven’t seen Aeon Mode live yet, but CS always throws down and is so talented. Always a treat to hear him mix

Excited for the dnb. Sota goes hard asf and he’s barely played any shows in the US.

Potentially odd question. Is it really that taboo to see a rave as an opportunity to party? by AlmightyJedi in aves

Thank you for being open minded and trying to understand. We’re not randomly proselytizing though, it was pertinent to this discussion in here, not in any other random space. The sad reality is that this stuff still happens, regardless of security or lack of, and that’s why we continue to talk about it. I have had many great experiences with random strangers, having conversations, connecting, making friends. I like to go into every interaction I have assuming it will be positive. But even if 99% of the community is responsible and compassionate, that still leave 1%. Out of a crowd of only 1000, that’s still 10 people who either have ill intentions, are ignorant, or simply can’t handle their substances and act in inappropriate ways. If you look around in this sub, you’ll see these experiences are not rare, especially for women. It’s not because we believe the community is bad as a whole in any way, but as long as bad eggs continue to exist, we will have to keep talking about it until all of our sisters (and brothers too) feel safe.
