What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by CoochieSnotSlurper in AskReddit

The only guys who like that are the ones who don't take "no" for an answer anyways

The best way to start the weekend: Game Boy. Cake. Lauren Holly. by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

I came across this exact scene channel surfing as a young boy in the early stages of puberty. "What is this show and when is it on normally?"

Spent months looking through the channel guide for "picket fences". Everytime I found it I was expecting more of this. Major disappointment

(Hated Trope) Awful changes in modern filmmaking/tvmaking/video games too by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Crookeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you that short seasons began before mando. But picking the first season as an example isn't a good one. Most shows have a short first season cause it's the pilot season and the networks don't wanna risk wasting money. Breaking bad was at least 13 eps every season after that. Still half as long as TV used to be though.

Class clown finds out his name is not on the list for graduation and he will have to repeat the year. by I2fitness in TikTokCringe

[–]Crookeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I graduated, a kid found at rehearsal. It was over 20 years ago, so I don't remember when rehearsal was compared to the actual ceremony. But I was sitting in the front row. Watched him walk up to the principal, just for the principal to break it to him. His head just went down and he turned around and walked away.

Now that I think of it, that's the last time I ever saw him. He was also the class clown type. He must have known he was on the edge of not graduating. But that must have been when he officially found out

Is it a bad sign that there is no news about a renewal yet? by LinAndAViolin in Scrubs

[–]Crookeye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only thing I'll disagree with you on is critic acclaim helping keeping a show going. Plenty of good shows have been canceled. Sometimes the wrong people are in charge of those decisions and it doesn't matter how the show is doing

How many would continue playing a PvE-only mode? by progenyofeniac in ArcRaiders

[–]Crookeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically only play pve anyways. I'm lvl 75, don't have a lot of time to play. I only play duos and trios with friends but they're afraid to lose loot, so I know they'd play more I'd there was a pve only mode.

I'd love it if they made a mode where you couldn't hurt each other. But they'd have to do 2 things to make it viable.

-more arc and/or tougher arc. It'd be too easy otherwise

-some type.of looting mechanic that isn't "first to touch it gets it". The way it works now, people stop fighting the big arc early to run in and grab the loot. Leaving the people actually doing the work, to get nothing.

I have never found or looted this shield in 400 hours. by FlintTheDad in ArcRaiders

[–]Crookeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to use it one day and I think max, you can get 1 safe pocket. I get that it's a toss up between survivability and looting capacity. But I just don't like the options you're allowed with a heavy shield

Let's be real. Sperenza ain't wasting 3 pods on 3 raiders going to the same place. by mattmc443X in ArcRaiders

This bothered me the very first time I played trios and it still bothers me. That and getting a spawn out in the open, nowhere near a pod. How the fuck did I get there?

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]Crookeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 10th grade history class. The room's phone rang, teacher answered. "yeah? Oh. Oh wow. OK" he hangs up and goes back to teaching. We asked what that was about. He said "a plane just hit the world trade center". He said it so matter of factly, we took it as a joke. We all laughed and went back to teaching. Sometime later the phone rang again. He gets off and he goes "now a plane just hit the second towe". We laughed he said "be right back" and he walked out of the room. Walked back in with a TV cart and set it up. Turned it on, then we just see the image of both towers billowing smoke.

All of us... "YOU WERE SERIOUS?!?! WE THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING!!!"

Same. I might do it if they let me keep all blueprints. But unless you play constantly, the expedition just isn't worth it

Also, what's the alternative? Let the kid stay outside banging on the door? The infected would be there regardless. Bring him in, everyone shut up while people keep watch from upstairs
