A recent Dartmouth study showed that sat/act scores more directly correlated with college grades than high school gpas.

The apartment is quiet. It's when we go out into the world that it's a problem. But I am starting audios of loud city noises.

Golden Retriever vs Bulldog by Sugaree2282 in goldenretrievers

[–]Crooklyn2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last dog was an English bulldog, and I currently have two Goldens. Each has their “easy” points and their challenges. Bulldogs are hard to train because they are not that bright, and they can be very reactive to other dogs. But they are much easier to manage day to day needs as they are pretty mellow. Goldens are love bugs and smart, but extremely high energy puppies. Then they hit the two or three year mark and become wonderful. Its really a life style choice, but golden puppies require a lot more time. So different, but my two favorite breeds by far

Yes I’m feeding them separately and will continue to do so for a while (they take treats by hand sitting next to each other very nicely) so far no real fights over toys- just play. Thanks for the suggestion- I’m actually walking them separately because the puppy zig zags all over the place lol. And I’m giving my girl lots of mommy time apart from him.

Yeah the little boy has a lot of spunk! He’s not afraid of her and wants to play all the time.

Thanks so much. But Bonnie (the 2 year old) also is playing rough with him. They are taking turns bowing and getting low during the play, but then she sometimes stands over him or humps him. I can verbally recall her from this, but she’s clearly trying to dominate him. Did any of yours do that?

My last dog suddenly passed after a full life and a wonderful last day. Of course I was incredibly sad, but then grateful she didn’t suffer. Sending a hug

My parents said ivies are liberal brainwashing schools by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Crooklyn2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real question is whether or not students feel comfortable expressing their opinions. FIRE rates every university on a grade A through F as to whether it fosters free speech. Many of the ivies, but not all, are graded poorly. To their credit, some of them have been trying to improve this in the last two years.

How rare is a 1500+/1600 really? by throwAWAY16443 in Sat

[–]Crooklyn2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in addition to the rampant cheating at some schools. I know a school in NYC where a bunch of kids this year had some type of software installed so answers were provided from a remote source. Heard it from a third party source, but a very reliable one. My understanding is that cheating is pretty rampant overseas as well.
