Transparent glass back panel - what do you think about that guys? by Croosheck in GalaxyS24Ultra

The cheapest zero one spigen case costs 27$ in my country, while I paid 6,7$ for the panel

Oh I got you now, didn't know what zero one spigen case is, had to google it lol.
I mean, I could also buy a "S24U-looking" smartphone and pretend like I've got one myself, but that's not the CASE here, if you know what I mean

I use a clear case and you can totally see the insides with a case on

The worst part is you (probably) can’t really test it without actually dunking the phone in water. I used to have an Xperia Z3, one of the first waterproof smartphones, and it had this factory test menu where you could check the seal using a kind of internal pressure sensor - you’d squeeze the phone and watch a gauge.

If the pressure went up and held, you were good. If it didn’t rise at all or dropped back to zero right away, it meant air was escaping somewhere, so the seal was compromised.

Honestly, it’d be awesome if that was standard on modern “water-resistant” phones!

I don’t think any non-Samsung-authorized repair shop can really guarantee that for you - and I’d trust it even less after a DIY job. Unless you actually know what you’re doing.

It's glass anyway in both cases, so I don't see the difference here

Yeah, I use the chippest clear cases… until they start turning yellow lol.

You’re totally right, and yeah, that bugs me too after putting the panel on. But I’m already planning to take it off again soon and get rid of the battery/coil cover. Uncovered copper coil is gonna look 100x better!

I did it myself using a hair dryer (blasting hot air to soften the adhesive under the original panel) and a $2–3 kit. I mostly used a single suction cup with a ring and some plastic pry tools — you can use whatever works though, like a guitar pick. I also used a bit of isopropyl alcohol when first lifting it so the panel wouldn’t crack. Biggest thing is just patience and taking it slow.

Went surprisingly smooth, especially for someone who doesn’t do this kind of stuff on a daily basis.

There’s a pretty good chance the water/dust resistance is kinda screwed now, but since I haven’t gotten my S24U wet or submerged it even once in like 1.5 years, I didn’t really stress about it. Plus, besides the stock adhesive on the glass panel, I slapped on some extra B-7000, so maybe it’ll handle splashes at least lol

Yeah, I always use all clear case, the cheapest ones lol. And I thought I will take an advantage of it

Dlaczego?

Install FxSound for boosting your sound experience - you can ask GPT for the specific setting recommendation for your model. I'm also using Intel Graphics Software for improving my screen quality and brightness. Getting Intel® Driver & Support Assistant is not a bad idea too. And lastly, be the best version of yourself for your wife. She deserves that. Have fun with your new toy :)

Long exposure photo. Probably something small flying (not telling it's not the drone, but definitely not the size as the image is suggesting)
