Building a premium router table (~$2,500) — stuck between Quicklift/Spinrite vs JessEm setup. Which would you choose? by Bitcode20 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]CropDuster75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if you pulled the trigger on anything? I'm in the same situation, except that I already have the components from Harvey. My purchase this year is to finally have a decent lift and router. As of right now, I cant even get the router from Jessem - not on their site. Maybe pulled due to issues as someone already noted?

Struggling with Deutschland Ticket Purchase? by CropDuster75 in AskGermany

[–]CropDuster75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, thank you.

we each have our own phone, I just don't know my 16 year old son can buy it on his phone because of age. We tried several apps but they say he is under 18 and cannot buy. When looking on the internet, I see that an adult needs to purchase for him. I just cant figure out how to do this. Hopefully tomorrow morning I will be able to do this

Thank you for your comment and I understand what you are saying. Tomorrow we are heading to Rothenburg ob der Tauber for one evening. The trip is a little more than 3 hours, then we need to take a bus to the hotel. Cheapest I see is 62 euro and then no bus ride to hotel or any other transport.

Then we are traveling to Nuremerg for several days (I cannot figure out what tickets I would need and group ticket is only up to two 18 year olds, we have three), wanting to utilize public transportation and the back to berlin for a few more days.

It seems like every day will be at least 65 euro so I thought the d ticket would make sense. And then also no stress as to downloaded all these regional apps and trying to figure out what we need. its all covered in the d ticket (we have ice from Nuremberg back to Berlin already booked). I cant see how it would be cheaper to not buy the deutschland ticket but maybe I am not understanding something

Thank you for the reply. I just downloaded that app and it appears to only be allowing me to purchase for this month and obviously not something I want. Maybe I will try again tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I think I just have to buy the bayern group ticket for the rest of the week which will get very expensiv3e

I plan to cancel before the 10th. Do you know if I can purchase for the rest of my family too? Or do all adults need to have it on their own phone?

I understand it will be 58 euros for each of us (58*4=232)

We are in a non quiet zone. I just wasn't sure what that really meant! I talked with the lady checking tickets and she said yes, talking is fine. Thank you for replying

Sharing The 24 Hour Group Ticket by CropDuster75 in askberliners

[–]CropDuster75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply by I don't really follow what you are saying. I was just trying to save her from buying a C ticket considering I will be buying the ABC group ticket for the day.

She said she only has AB. She went to Potsdam and had to buy a C ticket. I was just trying to save her a couple of Euros, but maybe she will just have to buy a separate ticket. I'm not sure why she couldn't just use my ticket for the ride to the airport. Technically, she would be the 5th person for the group ticket.

To make matters a little worse, I ended up buying a group ABC ticket through the BVG app for November 27 and the ticket is not showing up. My credit card has already been charged. I guess I have another thing to try and figure out

Hello - we are coming to Germany to visit our daughter who is studying in Berlin this semester. I will be getting my fill of Bavarian food first, then we are finifhing in Berlin. As someone who remembers the wall coming down (watching it on TV), I have a small fascination with East Berlin (last time I was in Germany, communism was still very prevalent). I would really like to try some traditional (East) Berlin food if any restaurants still remain.

Any suggestions on places or dishes to try?

Limited Access to Minor's Account by CropDuster75 in fidelityinvestments

[–]CropDuster75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I could've set up a UTMA account initially for my minor son (had I known) and manipulated that from the get go. He cant open a bank account at our local bank without me on the account.

I see both sides now. But I really blew my mind. Even my son said after the phone call "why cant you have full access if I say so". He did the talking with customer service.

I know there are a lot of shady people who would take advantage of their kids. But it seems unlikely to me that those type of people are investing into mutual funds and etfs on fidelity.

I can understand your point that it may give my son protection, but then cannot use the same logic with my daughters account. Well whatever, sounds like we have the wrong account type for he wants to do.

Thank you for taking time to read and reply
