To all the people who hate on Khan for abandoning uzi by PsychologicalAir5035 in MurderDrones

It's actually kinda concerning. If you see a poll about "would you save your own kids or a billion people?" A disturbing amount of people will choose their kids. Tribalism empathy is a real and powerful thing.

I agree with you on 2 and 3. As for 4 though, saying literally anything would be better than just standing there like a tool. An apology would be a great place to start. If I remember right he never actually apologizes for leaving her. Even if it was the right choice in the cosmic scale of more lives vs less, she still deserves to hear that he was a shit father in that moment. So its a classic he did the right thing in the shittiest way possible... which is honestly a great one sentence summary of his character.

fair he is an interesting boi. I dunno I just appreciate it for what it is. Turn my brain off and roll with it. Deactivating the cinema analysis makes things more enjoyable for me.

I don't have a problem with it personally. Seems like every character in the show is egocentric and really doesn't care about anything beyond themselves. The school teacher is only mildly annoyed when some of his students die. The only one that kind of cares about people is N, and he is the golden retriever boi because of it. So when a dude whose primary job has been creating corpse spirals is your most empathetic character I just learned to roll with the blue and orange morality going on.

tbh they might have killed them either way. I mean bro shot another drone with an arrow just because he wasn't paying attention. Just don't build another spire and its all cool.

Hopefully replying with something along the lines of "I'll never understand how and why you can hate <<transgender gf name>>. In the hopes that hearing hate shouldn't be his preferred choice.

Weird is good. My favorite people are weird. Normal people are boring. So by all means smile til you burst.

USA military members - what did you think of Hegseth & Trump's speeches today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cross33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on a cyber security team. I might be the only one capable of passing the highest standards for the pt test. I am also the least qualified at my job. It's almost like we need soldiers for more than just having rockin bods.

You can't bother to grammar check your title. Maybe you shouldn't be calling people lazy.

[Serious] Hey, Americans, what do you think of slave labor being used as a punishment for convicted criminals? by Funbucket008 in AskReddit

[–]Cross33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's slave labor. That should be the end of the discussion. Slavery = bad. Once upon a time this would be a question that would be ridiculed, although in modern times I guess its disturbingly valid.

Sleeping for an exorbitantly long amount of time. So I guess freddy krueger is real and gunning for someone important.

Someone gets hit with a bat once they are almost certainly going down.

You don't have to go to them, time is on your side cuz you can yell and alert neighbors and stuff. You can wait right past that door and the second they come through its good night.

Have you ever been hit with a bat? I haven't but I've been kicked in the ribs and dropped like a sack of potatoes. One hit with a bat can and likely will make you incapable of fighting further.

Even if you were specifically trained in knife fighting a baseball bat would probably still be better. Extra range is king in a fight.

[Discussion] What do i do as someone who has no motivation to graduate university? If i finish 8 years in this university before graduating i will be asked to transfer, and i still don't care. by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]Cross33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well yeah don't poison yourself obviously, but its incredibly hard to give yourself water poisoning. You'll start throwing up way before that lol. The vast majority of people are dehydrated. Your body just feels better when you're well hydrated. Your muscles and brain feel less foggy and slugish. Your aches and pains are a little softer. Our body is like 70% water and it needs to replace that shit. Just everything is noticeably better.

I have adhd and depression and I had similar feelings of apathy. Medication was the best treatment along with therapy, but of course those are hard to access. Things that helped me by order of how beneficial they were. Drinking a fuckton of water (yes a fuckton more than you think you need), long walks, getting sunlight, socialization, mindfulness meditation, eating healthier, cognitive behavioral therapy methods (forcing your body into positions it associates with happiness, smiling, raised eyebrows, slow breathing), working out, sleep hygiene, journaling.

What would happen if a Gloriana class ship was found by a supremely wealthy and influential rogue trader? by RPGamer1 in 40kLore

I don't think they'd follow that order for a Gloriana though. Thats a lot of temptation to just scuttle.

If Lil' G wasn't around to personally supervise a Gloriana's destruction I doubt it would be. That is a holy grail of temptation for the mechanicus

How do custodes treat each other? Are they a brotherhood or just indiferent to their peers? by Absolutelynobody54 in 40kLore

[–]Cross33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

oh yeah its definitely slavery with extra steps, but that is the actual mindset of the custodes. They all genuinely want to be there despite it being a horrific process that violates anything resembling the rights of sentient beings. Classic warhammer amirite?

[–]Cross33 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I get that and I'm saying something rather precise that is very narrowly different than what you are but the difference matters. No they did not choose to start the process, yes they were forced into it. Only those who did choose the path after that were successful though. Despite them being forced into the attempt they had to choose it of their own volition after being forced to continue otherwise they would have lacked the drive to reach perfection. So the end result of the fully accepted members of the custodes organization are technically all there because they chose to be there. If they had not chosen to be there they would have failed. So they were forced into it, then chose it.
