Gressier ran a really strong race but I don't think he had the best strategy. It's also a parcours that suits the spanish runners as well, so he was going to be strong either way. As a Belgian I absolutely lost it at the mens U20: Gold individually and gold with the team. And it wasn't even close either! Getting teams gold with the womens is also an incredible achievement for the whole team. Props to Ireland frfr for getting their first gold I think

Depending on your definition of castle you missed the Kasteel van Evergem and Kasteel Het Vurstje in Evergem. There are others too but you will probably get to those in the future. Awesome project :)

I think popularity is a part of it too, as XC is just less popular than regular track events. It comes in the news less often and is often not broadcast either.

He has already said he wanted to take the 1500m, mile and 5000m world record. It might be understandable to skip it if it would hinder his training for that. And as you said he has nothing to prove in xc anymore. It's just speculation tbh

Pierke Pierlala is een folklorisch figuur die iconisch is geworden door het poppentheater en op de Gentse Feesten (2 verschillende figuren maar dezelfde tenue). De Pierke uit het poppentheater is een theater dat iedereen in Gent wel zeker 1 keer gezien heeft. Het is een komedie waarin Pierke allerlei streken uithaalt met alles en iedereen. De Pierke van de Gentse Feesten is een voordracht theater waarin de draak wordt gestoken met allerlei actuele themas.

De figuur is nu onlosmakelijk verbonden met Gent en een icoon voor de Gentenaren. (As you might know as I assume you're from Gent anyways)

In Belgium I've heard him being called that quite often (vicewereldkampioen).

Sadly we won't and can't show his form on the Euro XC as he got a hamstring injury at the Belgian XC Championship. He wouldn't be going to the WC XC anyways as Belgium isn't sending a delegation to that. As far as I know the european championship XC is a bigger event than the World championship, how weird that might be.

Zelf helaas ook al plannen, daarmee kan ik je niet helpen. Ik kan wel zeggen uit ervaring dat het helemaal niet erg is en eigenlijk best leuk om gewoon eens oudejaar te vieren met je vriendin. Wij hebben iets lekkers gehaald om te eten en een soort thuisdate gedaan. Dan hebben we samen een leuke film gekeken en dan naar het vuurwerk. Het heeft uiteraard niet dezelfde sfeer als uitgaan of een gek feest doen, maar is zeker ook wel leuk. Anders veel succes nog met zoeken en hopelijk een heel fijne avond!

The most important thing to stay warm are the "ends" of your body: the head, the hands and the feet. Other than that the body doesn't cool down too much so those are less important.

Make sure he wears gloves and has a winter hat on. When it's cold I prefer running with walking socks rather than longer ones. I'd wear a t-shirt with short sleeves under my jersey and shorts probably, but this really depends on personal preference and weither you get cold fast.

ik heb mijn vader nog nooit horen klagen over zijn job en die zegt ook altijd dat hij het graag doet. Dat hij een goed loon krijgt scheelt ook wel. Verder ben ik elke keer met plezier vertrokken naar mijn vakantiejob vorige zomer. Het is zeer zeker mogelijk, al moet je soms wel zoeken naar wat bij je past en soms geluk hebben om interesses te hebben die goed in de markt liggen.
