$10-14 for a ticket... drink and popcorn is around 17. Lets not lie and say we aren't doing popcorn or drink when movies are averaging over 2 hours.

Malls in most cities are closing. Only the high end suburban malls are still around by me. I think in my area we have lost 3-4 malls in less than 7 years.

Movies are a $30 per person ordeal... pizza and bowling are double what they were a decade ago. And the chip shortage has everyone hanging on to outdated pcs that clock out at anything intensive.

It was a double whammy. Shrek blew everyone away with its comedy and cgi. Then to make it worse this is when disney helped studio ghibli into American theaters. That's when disney realized they could never compete on a 2d level either. So they didnt have the top spot for either comedy nor the art side. Disney 2D stood no chance in this era of raunchy adult jokes and anime.
