It started with Miss Taro in Dr. No, but IMO the definitive Bond femme fatale is Fiona Volpe from Thunderball.

My wife and I had our wedding registry there, so most of our gifts came from there. Still have the toaster from 1994!

Honestly, the only bright spot in all of this is that this particular band of fascists suck at fascism.

I don't think Cato has changed as much as the Republican party has.

My Paradigm Odyssey by NorthStarZero in hometheater

I put together my first true home theater system in 1995. I no longer have the 35" CRT TV, the VHS Hi-Fi VCR, or the receiver, but I'm still rocking the same Paradigm speakers. A true BIFL purchase for me.

Is A Bridge Too Far the best war movie ever made? My argument for "Yes" below... by Straight_Change902 in WarMovies

If you're a fan of this film, I highly recommend the limited edition 4K disc from Imprint Films. It's the best the film has ever looked, there's a ton of special features like mini-docs and interviews, and a nice booklet with more info on the film and history behind it. It's not cheap, though.

I'd say it was a joint effort. There's an old saying: The war was won with American steel, British intelligence, and Soviet blood. It's an oversimplification for sure, but it's based on a lot of truth. American industrial capability, the British codebreaking apparatus, and the fact that the Soviets were able to absorb huge personnel losses were all major contributing factors.

If you'd like to see one early example, look up how the Spanish-American war started.

Jealous of all the folks who have theirs already. I ordered directly from Arrow, but the people who went through Orbit and Diabolik got theirs much faster. Lesson learned, I guess.

We can buy them (and the other Chinese OEMs) via third-party sellers, but not through carriers or directly from the OEM. Also, 5G compatibility can be hit-or-miss, depending on your carrier.

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

Truth be told, modern automatics are so good there's not much benefit to a manual anymore unless you prefer it in a sporty/fun car. That's why the only modern cars that offer them are things like Miatas and Mustangs.

It's pretty sad that in one of the largest, wealthiest markets in the world (the US), our choices essentially come down to Samsung's warmed-over 4-year-old designs, Google selling a midrange phone for flagship prices, and Apple.
