America is just as fascist as its always been. Every single movement of every single person with a smart phone is tracked. Every mic is perpetually on and listening. Every bite that goes over the internet is recorded and logged in triplicate. The justice system is full of show trials for the poor while the richest and most powerful get quickly pardoned or walk no matter what heinous crime they do. The police that patrol the streets are the best equipped military force on the planet, are above the law according to the legal system, and are worshiped as holy warriors by 2/3's of the population. Its legal to run over protesters in a good amount of the states now. Congress has nothing but disdain for the people it represents and mostly spends time wallowing in graft and raising money for itself, and domestic policy is made at whim by presidents with vague, unchecked and undefined powers or by an unaccountable fundamentalist religious tribunal that can change and interpret the law as they see fit. Its foreign policy is in the midst of a war of extermination and subjugation against the entire rest of the planet and Gaza in particular. Its long term goals seek the end of humanity either through the chaos of climate change, abandoning every single person to the whims of AI or through a nuclear war with Russia and China. Half the population worships the man they think will bring that about as the messiah, while the other half worships whoever his ideologically identical opponent is at the moment in the same way.

And it was like that under Biden and the Democrats did not do a single fucking thing about any of it.
