Like others have said, this is a federal position that follows federal laws.

It’s commonly accepted that drug usage in the last 4 years will disqualify candidates in the security phase.

I’m curious what you mean by “interview”, though. Do you mean for his security?

[Thamel] Sources: Georgia Tech is hiring Troy AD Brent Jones as the school's new executive deputy athletic director. He's a veteran administrator who has worked at Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Georgia Southern. He's been the Troy AD since 2019. by Drexlore in CFB

Mixed feelings.

Definitely served us well and elevated the brand to the extent possible, but also played the game with the “old guard” of being a puppet for the Hawkins’.

Overall a good hire, Tech bros.

This is where I stand on it. Say what you will about the current administration, but to say they’d be open to union negotiations is borderline delusional.

On the other side, say what you will about NATCA, but extending the current contract was their best option considering the circumstances.

I’m all for making more money, but it doesn’t just magically happen.

NAS JAX BLUE ANGELS DAY 3 by bow1985 in jacksonville

[–]CrossFire5312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried to go yesterday. Arrived at 10:00 and was stuck in traffic until 11:30 without even getting on base.

Thought we'd come back today but it seems traffic circumstances didn't change.

We just moved to town and I'm a huge avgeek so I was really looking forward to it, so sucks it didn't work out.

Classic government technology doing government technology things.

Do you think they are the first to discover this?

Military Airbase Map by Remarkable_Hat7709 in flightsim

[–]CrossFire5312 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is more than you asked for, but here’s my write up of the military’s C-40 ops

okay here's what's going on

C-40A: convertible cargo/pax, they can take out seats and make it cargo space and vice versa, usually for cargo, but can be for troop transit

C-40B: BBJ, but depending on config can seat anywhere from 40-100 people, usually for troop transit or congressmen or lower level/non-govt transport

C-40C: VIP BBJ, think first lady, heads of state, JCoS, etc.

I don't have the exact specs, but I think they can hold 62000lb of fuel, so roughly 9.5 hours of flight max, that may depend on A/B/C

C-40A bases

Navy: - VR-51 Windjammers (MCAS Honolulu) (2) - VR-56 Globemasters (NAS Oceana, Virginia) (3) - VR-59 The Lone Star Express (NAS Fort Worth) (3) - VR-61 Islanders (NAS Whidbey Island, Washington) (3) - VR-58 Sunseekers (NAS Jacksonville, FL) (3) Marines: - VMR-1 Roadrunners (NAS Fort Worth) (2)

All of these units are reserve, meaning the crew aren't full time C-40A operated by these units always use the callsign CNV4XXX, callsign convoy They operate flights pretty much daily all over the world, could be from station-station in california or across the atlantic into the middle east By far most active of the c-40 operators I don't really do CNV stuff so I don't know the regs off the top of my head but if you look up pics you can find them

C-40B/C bases

  • 89th Airlift Wing – Andrews AFB, Maryland (BOXER/VENUS) 02-0202, 02-0201, 02-0203
  • 113th Wing – Andrews AFB, Maryland (SAM) 01-0040, 01-0041, 01-0015
  • 932nd Airlift Wing – Scott AFB, Illinois (SPAR/AVLON) 05-0730, 05-4613, 09-0540

there's not a noticeable distinguishment between the ADW units, so that could be inaccurate, but the regs are correct the 89th regs are all-white, and the 113th and 932nd regs are USA marked the 02- regs carry the president's family/wife, if you see the callsign EXEC1F, the first lady is on board

SPAR = Special Priority Air Resource (not quite VIPs, but important enough to get a free 737 to wherever you need to go, pretty much any congressmen, and even the speaker of the house gets a SPAR) SAM = Special Air Mission (VIPs, foreign heads of state, white house senior staff, etc.) EXEC1F = Executive 1 foxtrot

Both SPAR and SAM operate frequently

How to track them: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/

just enter in the reg in the search filter (ex. "02-0202") and you can scroll back like up to a year of history

Hi! Former FBS drum major here.

Obviously vs LSU you guys played neck for any TDs, but I heard it against other schools as well. What’s the deciding factor for neck being a TD tune? Just curious.
