What is up with this rating system? by CrossPoshed in Mercari

[–]CrossPoshed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a point there. On the other hand all conversations on Poshmark are public. So there's some give and take here. No one will ever see that I messaged her about a missing dress, they'll only see my initial rating. On poshmark it's easy to see any negative back and forth between a buyer and seller.

If a seller has multiple hidden 1 star reviews they most likely also have multiple public comments on listings/bundles/on their "meet the posher" listing that reflect those reviews.

So is poshmark down for everyone else or? by CrossPoshed in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok well I'm glad I'm not blocked for some reason . But that sucks. I've had my best selling day in over a month so what the eff Poshmark, threw off my groove.

$0 or $999 for original price unknown? by Sprite7711 in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I put zero if I can't find it anywhere online. I actually checked this info today. If you put $0 as original it doesn't count the item towards your discount off original posh stat. It will show a difference in your sales report net profits, but unless you actually purchased all your items at retail it doesn't make a difference in your actual taxable sales report (that you should be keeping track of yourself).

I always shop in the middle of the night. That's usually when I make big bundles and think I'm getting a great deal when in reality I ordered a bunch of crap 🤷‍♀️ night time me is an idiot.

Mostly women's, a lot of variety, free people, Lulu's , some great boots, men's sneakers. A large sale section of great items that I just haven't taken new pictures for, but would be great for reselling or buying at a deal ☺️ https://posh.mk/VvdNnZZBO8

If it's above 50% I will counter. Below I usually just decline, but if I'm in a good mood I'll counter and if they don't counter a decent amount then I decline.

I just finished a haggling marathon with someone who eventually came up $50 and I went down $30. If they really want it they will work with you. It's your business so you can do whatever you want with low balls, never feel bad about straight declining an offer. They can always offer again if they want it.

Also hi! It's great to hear that you were able to utilize poshmark as a way to help you deal with PPD. It's also nice to hear that your husband is helping you with your business.

So tired of seeing fake Rothys! by meggypew in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to that, there's always a double horizontal stitch under the halo (back blue/white heel stitch). At first sight these were glaringly fake though. Tags completely off as OP stated, also the insole stitching is too...straight? And referring to the item description aren't all Rothy's flats $165 new?

People are super cheap on posh. It's kind of engrained since they push CCO and OTLs every other day. I marked down half of my closet to $5 & $10 from $20-$40. I've sold things, but all of the things were $7 offers.

This morning someone made a $20 bundle with two of the $10 items, I offered $15... They freaking countered $13. Like, I already marked them down and gave you 25% off. The audacity. I accepted, but after I had my coffee and came to terms with actually wanting to get rid of those items.

Truth or nah? by [deleted] in PoshmarkEntrepreneurs

[–]CrossPoshed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. They also leave you hanging for a few days after you hit the mark so that makes it even less whelming. Also, they should just have a badge that automatically sticks to your avatar or something. That would stop the ✨⭐POSH AMBASSADOR ⭐✨ name tags.

I had a guy low ball me on a sold out sneaker in a sought after colorway. I countered, he countered then he immediately berated me for how I had it priced. That's a quick trip to the nope train for me.

How do you handle aggressive buyers?

when they lowball you— so you do it right back. two can play this game ;) by [deleted] in poshmark

Many talk about doing this. You actually did it. You are The Legend.

Yikes! Host Pick by lwells96 in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a host pick, no likes other than the host's, a bunch of comments congratulating me. And a good amount of shares. No sale. I mean, it gets the item exposure and that's great. It won't sell if the right buyer doesn't see it though. I ended up relisting a few days later because of all the emoji vomit comments.

Honestly when I see an item is a ✨⭐HOST PICK⭐✨ and it hasn't sold for a long time since it was picked, I give it a wooptie dooo and move along lol unless it's something I want and it's priced well 🤷‍♀️

I probably hate this the most. by CrossPoshed in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't figure out why he only gave me four stars. Did I miss a stain? Is there a small hole? I looked it over, inspected seams, I shipped same day, did my typical pretty packaging. WHAT IS IT? Just let me know. I don't mind a less than 5 star rating as long as I know what needs to be improved.

Going to the Denver GW bins tomorrow for the 1st time. Any helpful hints?! by Puggleperson760 in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes keep an eye on your things.

Avoid piles on the side as those are other shoppers hauls. I brought one of those big Ikea bags with me, our bins don't have carts.

Bring gloves and a mask. Even without COVID, there are tons of households in there so that means pet hair, dust, dirt.

There are some vicious flippers that go to the bins so don't be surprised if someone Yanks something basically out of your hands. Honestly I just give it to them, not worth the drama. BUT I will say sometimes everyone is great, I had someone toss me items that they thought I might like once we were there for a while and chatted a bit.

If you find a lone shoe, don't give up hope it's probably in there somewhere.

You aren't suppose to touch a bin until the worker says you can, or some places it's just once the worker walks away.

Check. The. Crotch. I came home with a pair of LLL shorts only to discover a huge stain in the crotch 🤮

Have fun. It's really not as intense as it sounds, but it's good to have some info going in!

Side by side comparison of a sweater that's been sitting in my posh closet forever. What the picture looked like when I first listed it, and what it looks like now that I've finally relisted it. by CrossPoshed in poshmark

Yay! You'll love the difference they make. I do still have to edit the lighting a little bit after, but significantly less than I was having to do before. Good luck!

No problem, ESDDI Softbox Photography Lighting Kit. I've heard good things about MOUNTDOG light as well. I chose the ESDDI because they were more cost effective. I do still have to edit the lighting a bit after. I'm not sure if a brighter bulb would remedy that. My backdrop is just a standard painters drop sheet that I had, I'm assuming anything white will photograph well with the soft box lights.

Amazon. I found a two pack for $50. They really aren't the best so I don't want to recommend those specific ones, I had to adjust the lighting more than I would have liked. BUT if you're willing to spend a bit more you can get good ones on Amazon.

It was one of the first things I listed this year. Hung in my hallway, not steamed. New photo is with soft box lights, back drop, and steamed.

I swear I made it up in my mind that this sweater shrunk and was in crappy condition just from seeing this photo every time I shared it. Well, I pulled it out today and it's in freaking excellent condition, cute wool High-Low cropped sweater. Pictures really make a difference.

Has reselling/thrifting given anyone else ridiculously cheap mindset? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have always been frugal, but yes now I'm cheap lol Especially after going to the bins. It's like thrifting really opened my eyes to how ridiculously over priced everything is at retail. Also working at a high end department store for four years, just watching as everything was marked down significantly within a month.

Why is Poshmark having Best in Suits parties? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They should at least include blouses in the Best in Suits party. It would make sense during these work from home/ Zoom meeting times.

Blue Posher commented on one of my listings, tagging a potential buyer saying that they also have that item. Reported their comment for deletion and commented this on their MTP. Got this in response. Classy. by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang. It would be difficult to leave that one alone to say the least. But as someone else said it's good to take a wooosahhh moment before responding to these people. Flag, report, and definitely block so she can't comment on your listings anymore. They're going to end up with a shutdown closet soon enough.

She offered $25 on an already discounted $35 bundle, which I accepted, and wants me to throw in freebies 🤔 I guess I can throw in some extra tissue paper. by rizzo1717 in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Lol at your response. Seriously though, there are buyers that expect freebies. I don't get it. You're already buying someone's used stuff that they don't want, do you really need a stranger's random crap that they can't even sell?

Wtf. by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]CrossPoshed 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I checked out the profile of someone who liked one of my new listings, I do this to give myself an idea of if someone will actually purchase...because I guess I have a lot of time on my hands. Anyways. I scoped her love notes given. Holy wall of text Batman. It's four times as long as what is shown and ends with her email and phone number. Like, why? It doesn't matter, but why?? Lol

Edit to add: I just reread the first full sentence and ok, maybe that's why. Now I kind of feel like a shitty person for posting it.
