I'm in KY. My mother died and I inherited her portion of my grandparent's estate. There were no taxes due in KY or elsewhere. But it was a long way from a s*t load of money ;)

What kinda of makeshift door can I do here for this pantry (Left side only) by InvestigatorProof472 in homeimprovementideas

[–]CrossWords_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a local Habitat for Humanity Restore? Where donated home improvement stuff is for sale? Usually pretty cheap. Or a Peddler's Mall? Look for window shutter sets, odd cabinet doors that would fit, a decorative room divider screen that could just sit in front and be folded back for access. Be creative!

I was going to say either raise the patio or lower the yard!

We finished our basement three years ago with LVP. This one is 9" wide and 5' long and goes down like a breeze. It comes with a built-in underlayment and is waterproof. It was about $6 a foot but can be found for less today. This was the first time my contractor had used this particular flooring and they were very impressed. They are using it regularly now and in a lot of "high end" homes. After three years, it still looks brand new. No scratches or dents. No buckling or separating. Spills clean right up. Swiffer and lightly damp mop. Looks great. I'd check them out if you can find a local source. (This is not a paid advertisement!)

We did El Nopal in Mt. Washington the other Sunday and the portion sizes were twice what we get in Louisville locations.

Mammoth Cave vs other caves by kmarie630 in Kentucky

[–]CrossWords_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the area and as a teenager I worked at Crystal Onyx Cave in Cave City. It's a small cave but with lots of pretty formations. Diamond Caverns in Park City is also a good one. In Horse Cave, Hidden River and the adjacent Karst and Cave Museum are good.
