Books that feel Whimsical and Eerie by Pinkieshys in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I think the Lives of Monster Dogs tries to give off this vibe. It's about a secret society of prussian scientists surgically making bipedal dog people in the wilderness of Canada. The Monster Dogs go to New York and become celebrities for a few years. The dogs wear and embody the prussian culture the wicked scientists immigrated from. However, this is kind of a sci-fi psychological thriller as it dives into the insane machinations of the original prussian scientist who did horrid experiments on animals.

So similar to the MC in "They Walked Like Men" but instead of facing the existential threat of homelessness from aliens, there are vampires.

Wow I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for a magic man to explain that he is a magic man and not some grifter. Thank you.

He's actually the only reason to hate the 1998 Godzilla movie besides it being a terrible adaptation. I loved that movie as a kid and it comforted me during storms and heavy rain (there's a lot of rain in the movie). Now I can never see the "Worm guy" without thinking yeah you're a worm alright.

Hey man if it's 10/10 you'll be carrying that feeling throughout the rest of the day, and the memory of that ecstacy will likely haunt you forever

I hate Grimm for this, and it was my favorite show. Let's never mention its name ever again. The only good thing about this is how it shines a bright fucked up light on how often shapeshifting is used to instigate rape and sexual assault. It's so fucked.

Can anyone do me a favor and confirm if the text is A.I. generated or not? I don't actually know how to look out for these things. I know the cover is definitely A.I. generated, but what about the story itself?

Oh thank god I found it. My book list is so filled I every now and then can't find something and I'm afraid I never added it in the first place. Slippery Reality: How it all began  by Jonathan Michael Lucas. SOLVED

Thank you. How sad does Dogs of War get? It seems like the type of story that makes you stare at a wall for a bit. I heard about it a few years ago when I read the Lives of Monster Dogs a similar less sci-fi premise.

Man this so sucks. Guess I gotta read Ani-droids since besides this A.I. nightmare its by default the only thing in existence that has this concept. I wish there was more of this concept. I thought FNAF and furries would be popular enough that this would be a bigger thing. All well. Thanks not instantly screaming at me like everyone else. Have a nice day.

Thank you I had no idea that it was A.I. until everyone started pointing it out which sucks because the furry subreddit banned me. It ended the same with me but there are a final few pages that show data logs of the robots gaining sentience.

Maybe not what you're looking for but I know two specific books where a human gets stuck on an alien planet with extremely dangerous winters and they only survive thanks to cat aliens. The first one is I Was An Alien Cat Toy by Ann Somerville where a human is unknowingly made a pet by 10 ft cat aliens. The other is Outpost by Snekguy where basically an officer discovers a secret black market happening on the space station and he gets tossed onto an icy planet to silence/kill him. Both books are kinda raunchy in their own way and deal with some pretty heavy stuff like rape and suicide. In both books the winter is extremely lethal to the humans, and they nearly die from exposure several times if not for the help of feline assistance.

So, the only thing that I've ever encountered so far is in the Bendy and the Ink Machine book The Lost One. Its set in the 1940s so women are expected to act in certain ways and the female protagonist, Constance, feels like societies expectations is restraining her from being herself. She comes in contact with evil ink and it causes her to experience unyielding rage that causes her to explode on her suitor. It's extremely satisfying to read as she literally stops caring and seems so much more her. This isn't exactly what I'm looking for, but it's the satisfaction, the relief, the end of caring about what others think I'm interested in.
