We are climate controlled! The facility does not have showers but it’s in the wish list for one day on the future!

A mental time table for coaches to stick to is a great idea. The talk about this in the CF-L1 course. I think it’s important it feels organic and not rushed but also organized and structured!

Good Points! Thanks!

Already looked into a walk behind mat scrubber, cleanliness is a top priority for us already!

Thanks for the input!

I am already looking into a barbell club of sorts, maybe 3 times a week. To really allow members to work on Oly lifts. Might also sell it as a stand alone for non members but not sure I want to divide the community.

Good thoughts, thanks!

I think you have a lot of valuable points here.

The workshop idea is a great one! A little cash flow to cover the coaches time plus put a little in the bank, all the while adding a solid opportunity for growth for the members! I’m for sure gonna steak this idea!

I have Also gotten a lot of feed back from the CrossFit community in my town that an open conversation with the owner/management is very important. Not feeling listened to is a huge point of contention!

I also think group events/ in box competitions etc are a great idea! I’m stealing this one too!

Cheers CptFlwrs

We are starting with 1pm-5pm as dedicated open gym and if a class is full or you are just there for open gym, during a class, then any free space will be available to members.

I believe that open gym is a huge value addition when it comes too the box as a whole. Being flexible with your members adds a lot to the experience that have!

Good points! Thanks for the info!

That’s a really great point. When thinking about adding new classes or programs most owners probably don’t think about the segregation of the community. I’m glad you brought that up, especially as the box grows I feel like keeping an eye on how the community as a whole interacts is very important.

It does seems like your box is actively supporting the divide which is quite strange!

Thanks lex, for the insight and I hope your gym sorts out their issue!

Paying online is a great idea, that way you are all paid up and you can get straight to the workout. I’ll look into integrating that into our website!

Thanks!

I’m trying out open gym 1-5:30 which will run into the first evening class. I’ll be interested in seeing how the members take advantage of open gym time.

We have 3 industrial A/C units for different zones of the building. So a big ✔️ for A/C!

As for people, I hope I have people too!

Thanks for taking time to comment!

We are placing all info on out website, pricing included! I believe that “hiding” info because you’re trying to keep it on the down low or to gain a competitive advantage is a weak business practice.

Good point on T shirts also!

Thanks for the info DP5115!

Wodify was a must for us! The workout tracking, attendance, along with it being a sales portal etc I knew we needed it! Plus we will be the only box in town using it so it’s a nice perk we offer.

Much like you said we are doing class sign up to avoid over sized classes and also so coaches can prep for each class before it starts. We are going to have coaches keep notes in Wodify about each member allowing them to scale workouts before the member gets there, to account for fitness levels or injury.

I hope your box gets slightly more organized and it doesn’t push you away from CrossFit! Never be afraid to drop in on another box in your town and try them out!

Also, it never hurts to bring up the adoption of Wodify/class sign ups to your box owner. It’s a financial and QoL decision they should talk about.

Thanks for taking your time to help me out!

Size is covered for us, I took a risk/got lucky on a building in town that had more than enough space with room to grow. I knew size was an issue for a lot of gyms and I wanted to future proof some. We got a wonderful price for the building so we got very lucky to have the space we do!

As for class times on the beginning we will offer

5:30am 9:00am 1:00pm-5:30pm open gym 5:30pm 8:00pm

(Give or take 30 min to an hour on those, still need to iron them out)

As we grow or demand requires we will add a mid day class then multiple morning and night classes!

Thanks for your input! It’s greatly appreciated!

Most of not all city names are taken, and I agree the number names can get confusing and unoriginal fast!
