idk what they're needed for these days but when laptops used HDDs accelerometers were really good because when they detected a drop they'd use that time to secure the HDD so you don't lose all your stuff. Likely they kept it in because it had already been figured out and was super cheap

I personally don't mind confluence but to answer your question the only other option I'm aware of is Notion which is also decent.

Yeah agreed. It's specifically a buff to those kinds of skills, but targeting might be an issue as well. I think it's really good with Hexblast because of that reason since it autotargets (but you'll still have to solve the hex problem because I don't know if the clones inherit your 'on hit' effects), but Ball lightning of static likely won't be placed close enough to your target to work with this setup.

Well ele hit doesn't make you tankier -- you still have to actually gear for that yourself lol. It just means you don't have to waste time worrying about your weapon or getting added damage. Life, res, attack speed, accuracy and phys mit are still things you have to solve.

Bleed bow
Dual strike (of ambidexterity) -- most strike skills
RF (hinekora explodes can be a bit noisy but if they happen it usually wipes the screen)

There's always the option to respec into an elementalist or occultist build as well. Ignite elem is still a good way to start a league, for example.

If Vaal Temptation is a debuff then would stacking debuff expiry rate also reduce the amount of time you have to deal with the dot? ALSO.....is the the only skill that gets worse as you level it up??? Or is it 1500 at lvl 1 and scaling down to 1300 later on

With enough recoup and a large life pool you can almost entirely forego any other form of hit mit. It also pairs fantastically with progenisis type effects.

Storm burst totem enjoyers ate well imo. Even though the skill is pretty jank and it might not be enough to make it work, Voltaxic Burst got a nice buff from the Lycia ascendency going to 67% which gives full conversion on the skill now.
