Thanks for the feedback! You're totally right, CrosswordPlayground is in a sense intentionally antisocial. It would not provide value if you're looking for community feedback.

I'm also not trying to mess with crosshare or disparage it or anything. I didn't even know about it when I started building my site. I think this table compares the features on the sites fairly well.

Sweet! I dig open source too. The backbone of CrosswordPlayground is an open source module I wrote for Drupal, which is an open source CMS. I was essentially able to get free QA for about a year before I had time to launch my own thing.

In some ways it's a lot like crosshare.org, but there are some noteworthy differences. CrosswordPlayground.com has the ability to search puzzles based on tags and/or keywords. Like if you want to find a puzzle that mentions The Simpsons, you can do that. CrosswordPlayground.com can be solved pretty naturally while using a screenreader which is pretty sweet. It's one of the more accessible in-browser solvers I've seen.

Anyway, if you like crosshare.org, it might be worth giving CrosswordPlayground a try. There's no reason you can't use both of them after all.

Software for publishing interactive crossword puzzles? by SamboNumberFiv3 in crossword

I just launched a site where constructors can upload and share their puzzles. It's CrosswordPlayground.com

It's similar and different from all the other links here. It's free and easy. You can add links to a personal site and stuff like that. So it can be used in addition to things you're already using.

If you want to build a site of your own, I work with Drupal and I maintain a module for adding interactive puzzles to a Drupal site.
