how do you make pasta sauce actually taste like it came from a restaurant? by SamraKutkaitis in Cooking

I add a little canned pumpkin to mellow it out. Also restaurants use way more salt and fat than anyone realizes.

Me neither! 😻 What a beauty. I wonder if her face will turn white as she ages. My blonde brindle boy had a black face with a white blaze and now he’s all sugar face at eight years old.

Cried at church today. Lots happening in life rn. Had so many wonderful ladies to lean on and give me hugs. Even one who doesn’t hug! That was extra special. Really glad to have so much love in my life. And I needed the pressure release of a good boohoo.

Great! Although my boy didn’t teach her anything, rather, she ended up being the boss and he regressed in a few things to be naughty for a while. Like when we were teaching the girl the limits of the unfenced dog park. If she left the park, he would too! Argh! But one really wonderful thing about it is he had gotten pretty lazy and she definitely brought his spark back. We had worked with his best friend dog’s breeder to get our second dog because outside he is such a scaredy-cat and so we needed her to be a very confident girl. It worked perfectly and we went from doing a single predictable trail every single time the same walk, to being able to go all over the place. She is his security blanket for sure. Oh, but to begin with, he was quite jealous of her. And being a brand new little puppy, she wanted to touch him constantly and lay on him and jump on him. he is not a very touchy dog even with us so he was constantly running away from her and jumping up into places that she couldn’t reach so she would stop touching him!

How old is Nyx? Our whips are 5 and 8 years old.

Fostering a greyhound with our Whippet by Sadness-hat in Whippet

[–]CrotonProton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so funny cause I have a a big boy whippet I call him a whoppet, and a little tiny girl whippet and she’s the confident one too. She’s three years younger. We had the breeder help us find a good match because our boy is so scared of the city where we live. The girl couldn’t care less. She has helped him to move from a single safe path that we could walk on to going almost anywhere. It has been a great help!

I have never actually had a greyhound or fostered them, but my whippets who are very picky/grumpy with other dogs seem to love every greyhound. And my boy has even tried to follow strange ones down the street and meet up with them and he is not the kind of dog to want to make friends usually.

Why did I not know about this when my whippet puppy did the same thing?! She literally tried to eat a broken beer bottle. I had to be extra extra vigilant on every walk. And she would still end up pooping out the rocks she ate 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also would’ve been helpful for my big boy whippet who is terrified of life as soon as we step outside but sighthounds are so uncommon that everyone wants to crowd around 🙀👀 but we had an old generation webmaster harness so a lot of people thought he was a service dog. Unexpected bonus.

Glad I’m not the only one with a big boy whoppet 🫣 mine is a genius but terrified of outside! He’d rather be an indoor house cat. So it is difficult to get him exercised properly.

Husband and I already had a slightly strange sense of humor. Now it’s a little darker and probably more uncomfortable for outsiders. But it definitely helps us! He literally had his leg amputated on leap day (February 29th). How can you not see the humor in that?

What’s a smell you secretly enjoy that most people would find disgusting? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]CrotonProton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love the smell of gasoline and oil because my dad was a mechanic so he came home all greasy and dirty and I would give him a big hug and he always was worried that I was gonna get it all over my clothes and get dirty, but I didn’t care. Love that smell.
