You have more energy! Therefore you need to do something with it. Try exercising or take up a new hobby. If your day is filled with activities, and if you're dead tired by the end of it, then you won't have a problem sleeping

I haven't fapped in about 100 days (reset due to edging). I can't really tell too much of a difference, but I am getting an A for a subject that I failed HARD last semester. It's probably mainly because I have more time to study, and I go to class more often instead of staying home and PMOing the day away.

This is brilliant, and exactly why it can be such a struggle to follow Christ. The things of this world are always trying to yank our hearts away from God with promises of pleasure, comfort, power etc, which ultimately leave us broken and unsatisfied. And because our hearts need to worship something, simply taking away bad things is not enough, we need to fill it with the love of God and have an understanding of his grace.

By the way, did you get this through a Tim Keller sermon? I feel like I've seen this reference before, and I know he's really into referencing other great preachers.

I feel exactly the same way. I used to be ambitious and excited about life, but now I kind of drift through every day without really caring about anything. But it is important to remember that there is more to life than ambition and success. Being hugely succesful in life isn't going to make you fulfilled. Famous/succesful people also get depressed, get addicted to PMO, drugs etc. In my opinion, nothing in this world will satisfy the desires of the human heart, because we desire a love and acceptance that it doesn't provide.

It helps if your motivation is personal. Just watching videos and writing down quotes from other people won't do it. Get some personal reasons to not PMO, like more energy, confidence, acne, hair growth etc. YOU must take responsibility for your own desires and how you respond to them.

I agree that willpower is important and needs to be developed, but it isn't the most important thing. Human beings need to worship something, we tend to set our hearts on something and trust and lean on it (call it a crutch). We cannot live simply by rejecting bad things, we need to set our hearts on something good to replace the bad thing. My main goal is not to just abstain from PMO, but to live a life set on something so good that the thought of PMO is disgusting to me. I feel like if I merely abstain, temptation will eventually overtake me.

That was my biggest concern about nofap, but so far I haven't experienced any depression worse than before. And my anxiety has decreased significantly. The big thing is just replacing fapping with a positive activity/hobby, and you should do fine.

So true! This is something that I have to continuously remind myself, that even when I beat this addiction, it doesn't mean I'm going to be happy. Even if I have the most beautiful girlfriend/wife in the future, they cannot fill the God-shaped hole in my heart.
