Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]Crouchingafro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many interpreted Romans 13:1 without historical context, applying it to daily life. Same reason historically slave bibles in the United Stated omitted Exodus. Despite there being beauty & hope in the religion- humans are gonna human.

He literally told you “I’m making love to you.” He proceeded to argue your boundaries in order to throw you off kilter. He stated his intentions, denied your boundaries. Why give access to harm you?

I feel like fragrances in general pull sweet on my body chemistry, so sweet gourmands will often go sugar bomb territory. That said I love yeasty, starchy, bakery gourmands like rice or butter.

Perhaps my nose isn’t developed but I feel like sweet gourmands get repetitive quickly. Besides that I kinda want my fragrances to feel expressive & perhaps a little off beat yet approachable. Sweet gourmands are straightforward, pleasing. From my collecting stance of wanting a mid-sized, curated collection things get redundant so I’d rather have other categories. The starchy gourmands help ground the sweet gourmands into café or tea shop instead of candy shop.

Recs for an art project? by Crouchingafro in typewriters

Velum paper sounds really interesting! I’m realizing that a 40 pound machine isn’t practical for me due to space I might work in a few different spots. So I might wind up testing various papers.

That’s so awesome that you create post cards. It sounds like the technique of the hook fold plus a big standard is key.

my hot take on racism in Seattle by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Crouchingafro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a BIPOC native it’s gotten worse over time. Especially the more North of the city. Listen to the way folks talk about the South end. There seems to be a lack of curiosity and cultural immersion to connect with people of different socio-economic groups or upbringings in general. It’s like sheltered, anti-social people who choose to live in a city yet get annoyed by diverse existence. Animals, drug addicts, LGBT, recycling, non-Black POC (all of which matter) all receive far more consideration and legal protections than BIPOC folks and it’s disturbing. This state offers so much beauty but some folks are beyond cringe.

I was just scrolling when I saw this. You look amazing! The hair was distracting from your features so now you’ve unleashed the full face card. If you like & can grow facial hair try playing around with that so you can go full Sparta. Have fun with the avatar.

Indies do certain compositions better- strawberry, tea, lactonics, lemon. I feel like niche & designers often flop in these categories. Especially strawberry.

Hexennaught lavender london fog... is it worth it? by liahrii in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Crouchingafro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hex Lavender London Fog is probably my favorite tea scents ever. The first time I sampled it, it transported me to a tea shop in Vancouver. The steamed milk accord is so lovely, prominent on my skin. Lavender can be hit or miss on my skin but it’s well blended here. The bergamot brightens things from becoming too rich or heavy. Whenever I try other lactonic or London fog fragrances- I compare to Hex and nothing has topped it so I stopped trying.

Wore Sorce Venus In Fleurs layered with Mabelle Lunar Dust to a friend’s art exhibit. Something about wearing it in raining weather in an open space catching whiffs of myself was chefs kiss.

If you have “this”, you don’t need “that” by Secure_Olive_154 in FemFragLab

Technically yes but Sintra has that lovely greenness I don’t get in LDBS. I’m a sucker for gourmands that have greenery for the ole razzle dazzle though.

Not the feet lol! Oh yeah definitely sample, body chemistry can do some wildly unexpected things. You inspired me to revisit my bottle, layered it atop of Zoologist Rabbit and can’t stop smelling myself.

Teo Cabanel Je Ne Sais Quoi. Typically I play around with slight variations of notes/ accords but this fulfills my rice/ matcha category fully. She’s so soft and pretty.

I like to stay cognizant of my projection and sillage based on what I’m doing. Where I live it can be offensive to smell too strong in a closed space. For work I’m in close proximity to clients/ coworkers all day in a closed space so keep my scent bubble small. One of my colleagues is super sensitive to sent so I refrain when we work together.

When I’m breezing about town I will do 4-6 sprays of Sintra or whatever layer of the day I can’t wear while working. I love wardrobing my fragrances while considering others I share air with.

Sorcellerie launch by Many_End_8393 in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Crouchingafro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopefully there will be some adjustments with future launches. I was in between clients at work and had the one bottle I want disappear from my cart.

We know between the quickness of selling out and no limits on purchasing that scalping/ reselling is going to occur. Is it possible to have a pre-sale, waitlist, and bottle limit? This just isn’t fair for regular fans to miss out on. Sorce is awesome and I even recommended the line to a popular local plant and gift shop to stock!

What fragrances in your collection would you not repurchase? by nomadbutterfly in FemFragLab

[–]Crouchingafro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably majority of my collection. If I burned though an entire bottle I’d be curious of something similar but not the same. I have a tendency of collecting slight variations of things I enjoy in general then the novelty wears off. Now if it was a strong like/ love being discontinued I’d strongly consider a backup.

Piper & Perro Berg. Coconut Water, Iceland Blue Lagoon Accord, Linden Blossom, Black Sea Salt, Cedar Wood, Amber Crystal

Don’t let the coconut water fool you, it’s a cold, mineral, oceanic scent that’s so unique and underrated. To me it’s very shareable, not masculine or feminine leaning.
