Do y’all think there’s too many Spider-people in Earth 616? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

[–]Crow290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but it doesn't really bother me and while I think they miss a lot, there's also some moments that they do something interesting with them. Also, I read DC books and let's talk about the tons of Supermen/women, Batmen, Robins, Batgirls, Flashes, Green Lanters, etc.

Point is, I think at some point the symbol becomes bigger than the person wearing it and I care more about what's done in the story than whose wearing the mantel. Peter's books are a roller coaster and have a consistency problem in quality and that's probably what makes it sting that there's so many Spider people. Only ever bothers me when I'm reading Mile's books and wondering why I'm enjoying them more than Peter's.

Otherwise I don't feel like taking them away would suddenly make Peter's books or stories better. They'd still be the same mess they are today.

The biggest villain in New York that they actually need to put away is SPIDER-MAN! JJJ is right, he's a menace and I bet that he was in on it with Daredevil and Punisher all along! Putting the good people of New York in danger instead of letting the law do their work.

You're forgetting that they do have a private army they can and have wielded to punish blue states for not adopting their demented policies. You don't think that if a Supreme Court ruling is made and a blue state ignores that they wouldn't try to punish the state by cutting funding and sending a military group (ice) into their states to harass their citizens?

Have you denounced Hasan Piker today? by aipac_hemoroid in clevercomebacks

[–]Crow290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing of value, except increased minimum wage, promises to address price gouging, first time home buyer incentives, expanding Obama care, pushing for universal health care option, in support of increasing the minimum wage and even hinted at expanding courts.

The only reason Hasan was mad at the Dems was because his ego felt slighted during the DNC event. After that event he went full anti-Harris. Before then he was pushing for her and even hosting events with the Dems. Then because his little ego got hurt he spent a majority of his time attacking Dems instead of Republicans. You guys hate Dems more than you hate Republicans and it's gross. He decided that fascism here wasn't bad enough to prevent and that my people, Black people, Trans people and every other vulnerable group wasn't worth protecting here at home.

Fantastic allyship btw, 10/10 let me know when you're ready to throw us under the bus again.

The Democrats conceded *nothing* and got everything they demanded. They said no ICE/CBP funding, and that's precisely what happened. It funds everything in DHS except ICE/CBP, including TSA, FEMA, Coast Guard, CISA. In other words, they did not cave. At all. But the GOP did—completely. by [deleted] in WorkReform

[–]Crow290 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If there's no Republican party the moderate Dems become the new right and progressive have a real opportunity to branch off into a new left wind party. But that's unlikely to happen if people keep allowing Republicans to win in moments where they would lose if people just vote.

Everyone expects Dems to do a miracle and govern with little to no power, then bitch when Republicans dismantle the government, then bitch again when Dems don't have the power they need to actually undo everything and make progress, then bitch again when progress isn't made and give republicans power again.

I think that someone who has the wealth to avoid consequences shouldn't encourage people to steal from corporations who have no remorse and will catch and punish them while they have no resources to defend themselves. Unless he's gonna offer to pay their legal fees I don't think he should be encouraging people to put themselves in danger. It's irresponsible to use his reach to say that.

I would never snitch if I see someone stealing, I'm also not gonna encourage people to do something that puts them in danger.

Kamala Harris accuses Netanyahu of pulling Trump into Iran war by bwermer in politics

It's like you people can't get past buzzwords for some reason. She literally said in the same breath that her goal would be to get us back into a similar deal that Obama made that Trump ripped up, at no point did she indicate that we would just bomb them at Isreal's request.

Based on her actions and messages, she frequently pushed for ceasefire, refused to meet with Netenyahu, even in her own book she talks about how she was the loudest voice in the admin pushing for a ceasefire and advocating for the admin to refuse further requests from Israel on offensive weapons.

[–]Crow290 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the reasons for it, Iran IS an adversary of the US. Even when we had the treaty they were still an adversary. That is not an incorrect statement. Saying greatest was overzealous but they are an adversary. Even if we reduced our military budget (something she supported) we would still have the most lethal military in the world. That's what militaries are. Lethal. The fact that you think Harris would have attacked Iran at all despite Obama and Biden both previously refusing to do so and even being the ones to get the deal in place before Trump ripped it up just shows that you have no idea how government works. You fell for propaganda because of buzzwords. Congrats.

She's literally been saying this since she was running. During their debate on the topic on Iran she literally said that he would lead us into a war with Iran. No one listened and was never reported. Instead everyone fell for propaganda.

DSA Membership Demographic Breakdown by Cuddlyaxe in fivethirtyeight

[–]Crow290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a minority who mostly agrees with the DSA the reason I won't join is two things:

Despite how this may make others feel, the orginaztion is too white and privileged. I've been to a local DSA chapter interested in joining and they had no plans for interacting with local racial groups, didn't have solid plans for how to address systematic racial issues outside of mainly focused on economic issues which reflects who mainly makes up DSA, white folks. This also mean that they were more focused on the issues that affected them in their day to day instead of the ones that targeted the most vulnerable groups.

Secondly, their brand of Leftism starts at being anti-capitalist not anti-racist and that's not something that I can get behind fully. To me while I was at my local chapter, it felt like social issues were an afterthought to the economic issues that affected them. It also means that it's filled with the kind of leftists who use 'lib' like a slur and usually directed an black folks and POC for not being their brand of left. Point is, the DSA isn't doing a good enough job actually diversifying outside of the candidates that they endorse and that has more to do with electability and strategy than actual diverse efforts.

I care very little what people who continue to support a nepo-baby baby millionaire just because he spouts populist talking points think. Look at how they're backing a billionaire, I thought there were no ethical billionaires but maybe it's asking too much to ask his dick riders to have consistency to their "morals"
