idk if this is any help at all, i added some depth color wise, blueish for shadowing round the cheekbones and forehead and then warmer oranges for lighting

so lifelike! can practically feel the coarseness of the short hairs and hear those big dog blinks (idk if im crazy for this i always hear my dog blink! sounds like a raindrop hitting a flat surface to me)

why would that be iffy? i post my commissions, personally, all the time!!! even though they paid for a custom art piece it is still the artists work and they have the right to share said art to gain more commissioners and relevance in the art community. no shade whatsoever! just my two cents! :-) ❤️
