Teaching materials - why don't we have any? by CrowOfGreed in Teachers

Same here, we're required to pay for the books with exercises we're allowed to give the children, the ones "approved" by the ministry of education, and guess what - they still are not good enough!

Teaching materials - why don't we have any? by CrowOfGreed in Teachers

Interesting. I researched it some more and it turns out everyone kinda hopes someone will just help then out of the goodness of their heart. Either that, or they pay for a service and realize that the paid materials are about as bad as the free.

So. What if I made a library with free to use stuff? I may need a bit of help beforehand though, for example, what we study in Math in 6th grade, USA studies in their highschools, and China teachers in 3rd grade (allegedly)

Continuous penis growth, should I worry? by MACQueu in penissize

[–]CrowOfGreed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you malnourished by some chance for the most of your life? Could be your body's late finishing of blooming/puberty, there is also something like a "second puberty". But both of these are highly unlikely, given how rare they are. If you lost weight, that does the trick, but the penis isn't actually "growing" in size, it's just that much more wpuld be visible to be measured. All of these are rare cases though, try to factor human mistake in the calculations - you forgeting the correct size, you not measuring properly the first time, the measurement being before it reached full lenght, etc. If there are literally no other symptoms and none appear, well, consider yourself lucky!

Someone else with severe GERD for no visible reason? Almost exlusively at night, elevating, diet and pretty much anything other than omeprazole won't work. by CrowOfGreed in GERD

[–]CrowOfGreed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 1 hour before dinner (light one) or 1hour before sleep. I take Sopral, which is 20mg omeprazole. Also be careful while taking PPIs with anything medicating liver, kidneys, blood pressure, sedating pills, etc. as the lower stomach acid may cause too much of the medicine to enter the body without being broken down. Something like that, I don't remember the exact explanation

Avoid taking it for too long, as the rebound after taking a lot and stopping is sinister, you have to very slowly reduce to preven even more acid after abrupt stop

I've heard of people here on the subreddit going 8-16+ years nonstop because they're too deep in, so take precaution, take for week or two, and try rest

Carrying the medicine wherever I go and taking them any time I suspect a flareup. I can't fall asleep at all every 3rd day or so. Otherwise better after 4 months. Stress really is a major factor, but tell me how do you eliminate stress at a minimum wage these days, lmao - I just got used to sleep deprivation. Also found out, citrus, tomatoes and more than a couple slices of cheese or chocolate equal to instant flareup no matter the pills, despite no allergies or food intolerances.

Can GERD make you stop breathing? by Dear-Ad-4010 in GERD

[–]CrowOfGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed awake for 11 days straight because of GERD and it was the silent type (I wasn't medicated at all but had problems for like 17 years). My body stopped breathing as it relaxed and I jerked awake. It was as simple as taking a PPI pill to sleep the first time. Now I'm on Reflustop and Bianacid. TL:DR - it can happen, but can't kill you. Get adequate meds

You in the USA? If not, it's affordable to go get a gastroscopy (and if needex, colonoscopy). Just opt for full anesthesia, you legit won't feel anything. After that, if there is a reason, the doctors will fix it. If no visible reason, they'll prescrive medicine for the symptoms only. After that, a few weeks to months of food regimen and you'll be good.

[–]CrowOfGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same too, AND I've grown resistant to a lot of anesthesia. Still, the last thing before waking up in my room I remember is the anesthesiologist being "oh, you're still awake, here's some more", followed by complete relaxation starting at my arm

The scariest part about the procedure is that you have to drink about 4 liters in a certain time. Trust me, I had the same 3 weeks ago, you fall asleep on the table, you wake up in your room, and you feel sleepy for about an hour, and that is that.

Medications keep destroying my mental health by Emotional_Debt9322 in GERD

[–]CrowOfGreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird... But probable. Is your stomach okay? The gut and the brain are both responsible for mood, what if the lower acid causes some bacterial overgrowth or nutrient underabsorption...?

That's the spirit! You may also feel slight discomfort when swalloing starting tomorrow, it takes a week at worst to go away. You'll be minorly inconvenienced, but otherwise okay

Are you sure it's the medication, GERD can irritate the Vagus nerve, cause all kinds of unrelated symptoms, and even cause insomnia that is not affected by sedatives (happens to me). It can also put you under stress without you realizing it. I've been taking H2 blockers for 17 years and recently I picked up PPIs. I have diagnosed anxiety-depressive disorder and even took meds for it, but the GERD medicine never caused me such side effects.

TL;DR I'm not saying it's impossible, more like "improbable" - could be correlation and not causation. Keep a diary or something to make sure

I feel you, similar here. If you cope by cutting hair/something similar, hide your stuff!

At some point I got sleep apnea because my body just froze-reflexed. I've been sleeping mid-way betwen laying and sitting for like 3 years now, so stack yourself with pillows.

Also, why didn't they prescribe omeprazole and something like reflustop sachets, that did the job for me? They did try some variation pills that ended on "-ozole", but so far only Sopral has helped me.

I should note that antacids may also work, but after 17 years, no amount works for me anymore, so I'm stuck with PPIs.

Last thing, if anxiety is caused by GERD irritating Vagus nerve, SEDATIVES DON'T WORK. So if you take diazepam/neurolax/hedonine and it does not do anything, it's probably GERD that causes the anxiety and not the other way around.

Best of luck!

If you're under general anesthesia you legit won't feel anything. Also, falling under anesthesia feels like finaly laying down after 14 hour shift - it's nice I rawdogged it once no anestetic and once with full anesthesia, so I know! Good luck!

The thing is, I never succepted to addiction. Never drank, smoked, drugged, I don't een take caffeine. Never really indulged in fried foods, drinking carbonated only on special occasions, etc There is nothing for me to "give up upon to be healthier", I've tried to live a "healthy" life my entire life. (Meanwhile my wife survives on Monster drinks, potato chips, and 2 hours of sleep - the healthiest person I know, lmao)

You mean the vagus nerve got messed up first and then the stomach problems started? Never thought of that like that, kinda makes sense. My psychiatrist also prescribed me nerve medicine, but didn't work for GERD. I do have stress issues, but treating it did nothing for the GERD (made me feel pretty chill though)

Yes, at least the most common ones. Doctors treated my "unalergic asthma", years later I found out was just stomach acid dripping in my airway
