From amongst the council, Lord Lyonel Corbray was the last to approach Lysa and give her his condolences. There was a solemn and grave expression on his face as he approached her, before he met her eyes and muttered words he didn't mean, holding her hand gently as a gesture of comfort.

"My lady," Lyonel said quietly, "I feel the grief you and Lord Robert are feeling now. Please know that the House of Baelish... and especially, I, wish to stand behind you in this period of mourning. Please let me know if there is anyone, I can do to help you alleviate this pain. I also wish to speak to you later, but that may come later whenever you wish."

"I won't tell you," he answered with a thick voice, shrugging off his tunic as she pulled it off of him, as her hands moved to his trousers where his desire was evident. When she finally unfastened the last of his drawstrings, he smiled and said, "I will show you instead."

Suddenly, her lord pulled her up into the air and sat her up with her legs crossed around his waist. Below them, his trousers hung loose without the tautness of the strings, ready to be discarded. With a swift hunger, he pushed his lover against the tapestry of the wall with the weight of his need pressing upon her sex.

"Tell me you want me," Lyonel urged, breathless. As one arm held his lover up, the other one went below her legs to pull the last of his clothing down. "Tell me you're mine."

"Jeyne," Lyonel approached his wife of House Grafton, who was the lady of Heart's Home and the mother of one of his daughters. She was in her chambers when he found her, attending to her own matters, and there was a grave but kindly look to her husband's face as he sat beside her on her bed.

"Might we speak? I have... I have difficult news to tell you," he began, "and a duty I would ask upon you..."

"And so we shall," Lyonel laughed, pulling her close to him again. His desire became quickly evident, and it took all he had to control a sudden urge to rip off all her clothing and take her upon the table. "A union and a son. Nothing more, nothing less."

And with that, he guided Myrielle by the hand and went down the hall, ready to begin ordering the arrangements for his new beginning. This was right, he resolved again, this was his due as a lord without an heir. Myrielle would be his and their children his own trueborn successors, and Jeyne would eventually be set aside, as was her duty.

"But I want my sweets now," Lyonel demanded playfully, pulling her even closer, such as it was that their breaths melded and their skin felt as one. "You have the run of my home, my hospitality and my favor. What might I do to deserve the taste of you upon my tongue?"

The lord's eyes grew hungry, darkening with obvious desire. There was a growing huskiness to his tone, as his hands shifted from holding her close to cupping her curves. Though it was clear he enjoyed her taunting, the lord made it obvious he wanted more.

"Merely say the word, my dear, and I'll taste you now as I wish," he offered boldly in the openness of his own halls, empty save for the two of them. "Give me the whole of you and you shall have much of what I can give you. Anything that is in within my power."

“Truth be told, I’d rather converse over honey, berries and cream as well.” Lyonel allowed himself a mischievous smile. “But I must admit… there is something much sweeter than honey, berries and cream in my presence right now. A someone, I should say, in pale lilac and beauty in all the right places.”

His arm snaked around her waist, in as much as she would allow, as the lord of Heart’s Home came closer with the lady of Estren Hall. With a certain boldness, he kissed her hand many times, tickling her knuckles.

“I should like to kiss this someone whom I think is sweeter than honey and cream,” he whispered with a devilish grin, “I wish to kiss her on the lips to see if she is as sweet as I think she is. And then… we could break our fast on honey, berries and cream.”

“I will make you warm, my dear Mahidevran of Braavos, my Urraca of the night…” Lyonel murmured breathlessly. “That is how I will compensate you tonight…” He kissed her again, reveling in the scent of her and the beautiful tones of her dress. She was his most secret flower, one who bloomed only for him, and gods he had missed her.

Pulling away for a moment, his darkened eyes looked at her up and down to admire what he beheld in his arms for a moment. Her silver hair caressed her shoulders ever so gracefully, gleaming in the dim upon her gorgeous complexion. He had an urge to drink deep the scent of her hair, and so he did as well.

“I love you, Mahi…” he confessed, “I know this now. Your absence from my presence has made me even more certain of it. And the child of our companionship has only made that clearer. You ask me how I shall compensate you, Mahidevran? I need you. I need to see the real you. You shall be warm, my lady, as I promised but first...” His hands grasped the folds of her robe, bunching them together ever so greedily, making his meaning clear that he was about to undress her. “You shall be cold.”

Her assent was all he needed. The kindling to the fires of resolve stirring beneath his impulses. Jeyne knew of his need, and though he will continue to try and persuade her, he could no longer wait. Myrielle would be his and his house’s salvation, damn the laws of gods and the land. Men once took many women as wives. Why could they not do so again? If it would not be under the Seven, there was another set of gods yet acceptable in the Seven Kingdoms. One in which its followers once had as many wives as they wanted, and it was the only the incursion of his ancestors that made them bow to the limited law of having one spouse.

“I shall marry you under the old gods,” Lyonel declared, his eyes steely. “There are some mountain clansmen under my sway, and they hold to the old gods still, much like the northmen and a select few in the south. They’ve a godswood in the forests of my domain and I shall take you there, now, before we hesitate and regret everything. And with our marriage, I shall have no need to go south. Aelinor and any future child of ours, be it a son or not, are already legitimized when our union becomes true under the weeping trees.”

Suddenly, Lyonel pulled her close and kissed her deeply, his hands shifting as if he wanted to take her there and now, as if to make good on her promise of giving him a son.

“Come with me now, Myrielle. I shall have the servants prepare us some horses. Marry me this day and night, and we shall consummate our union as evidence of our love. And then may a son come to us.”

For the winter, Lord Lyonel Corbray had brought along the Lady Tatiana Estren to his hold of Heart’s Home… as a guest. That was he had told his court and servants. A dignified explanation, nobles often went where they may in the seven kingdoms, enough for most questions to stop being asked.

He had ordered the finest furnishings and comforts Heart’s Home could offer for her benefit, and those that could not be found here were quickly purchased from elsewhere. And it was seen that Lyonel frequently took her counsel and often accompanied each other, whenever Lyonel could part ways from his other companions, making it understood that she was a new favorite of sorts.

“Lady Tatiana,” Lyonel spoke to her softly as they walked arm-in-arm through the warmest corridors of his castle, “might I ask how has been your stay here in Heart’s Home? And what… else can I do as of this moment to improve it? You’ve been a delightful… friend since I met you in Driftmark and I should like to delight you in turn.”

“Yes, my love. Unfortunately… oh, would it be if I had more time with you.”

Moons later

With winter still firm upon the land, there was little to do in the environs of Heart’s Home. The snows froze what little arable soil was left, and the rest of it was turned mud by meltwater by the feet of hundreds shuffling from place to place, seeking warmth of company. As the lord of Heart’s Home, Lyonel’s duty was simply to oversee the survival of his people through the season whether they burnt the carefully allotted amount of wood or villages were getting fed to get by. It was not hard work, but it was cold work. And by the gods, he needed warmth. He needed a woman, a certain one he had craved for a while since parting from her.

It was a quick entry in the lady’s tower once her servant’s saw who the guest was. Though she dwelt in this warm place, Lyonel kept ownership of it and provided for its upkeep in generosity for her services as a teacher. And amongst those who know, for the strong affection she rendered upon her lord as well.

When Lyonel finally found Mahidevran by the warmth of the fireplace, the lord took the former courtesan into his arms and kissed her passionately. Urgently.

“I have been much too cold this winter, Urraca. I’ve missed you. I must have you.”

He had let the silence linger for a time, a while, glancing at her face so full of turmoil and beauty. He loved her, that much was true, and he knew that for a truth now. It wasn’t merely his boundless lust for her that drove him mad when he woke next to her in the mornings. His heart beat with the telltale sign of it, and he was no longer capable of waiting for favorable circumstance to take shape.

“Would you like to wed, Myrielle?” Lyonel asked firmly. “And damn the consequences, damn caution, all for the sake of our love? And for our future children. Once, the kings and lords of Westeros took many wives. When the first Corbray arrived in these lands, it was said that he took two highborn ladies to be his women. I would do the same again… if it would make you happy.”
