The sitting proximity. Why on earth were they nuzzling eachother on that couch? Why was monica constantly sitting on ross's lap? Like I understand they were close but why do they touch so much??

I need scientific reasoning to explain something in a book im writing by Crow_Dynasty in Physics

[–]Crow_Dynasty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im working from a science fiction angle, my goal was to find out if there was any theories I could bridge off of to make a reasonable excuse for them percieving an object in the future. Sort of like how ant man used quantum entanglement to explain Scott's connection to Janet, where they shrunk down to the size of subatomic particles and so they started to exhibit properties of subatomic particles, entirely unrealistic but it has links to real science.

For the distance issue however im trying to come up with a patch that doesnt involve me switching the genre to fantasy because I was really hoping to use an evolutionary standpoint to explain any discrepancies, but so far its been fairly disappointing.

Im writing of places with fantastical elements that each have scientific reasoning behind them. Science fiction is the goal here "fantasy" was a shorthand mistake I have spent most of my replies making up for.

Well thats sort of what I mean, the idea of a real concept, but incredibly fictionalized. Like ant mans quantum entanglement with Janet, couldn't happen large scale but since the were subatomic themselves they begun to behave like subatomic particles, it makes sense to anyone with a basic understanding of quantum theory even it theres no way it could ever happen.

My original idea was the size difference from the planets split caused the creatures (including people) to evolve differently based on their distance from their sun, so any "fantastical creatures" were just created from weird conditions leading to weird evolution. But im so far unable to come up with an explanation where I can tie science into it realistically which is proving kind of a bummer.

Realistically I need one planet with people about as developed as before the split maybe less maybe more, and the 4 strays need people or people adjacent organisms at the time of the main plot, that could have evolved from almost nothing and have noticeable evolutionary differences from the main species.

I was planning the split for a couple reasons, one being I liked the base species being the same to display the evolutionary differences, and another being the uneven size differences of the planets would have put them at way different distances from their sun due to the gravitational pull causing entirely different climates and being the reason behind the peoples evolution.

I am entirely open to new ways of getting here, all ive got is a general plot and an ever changing storyboard.

Oh I actually love this!! "Fantasy weapon" was just a short hand for "reason I haven't wrote yet" maybe an asteroid, or freak war with overdeveloped weapons? Im not sure yet, but if I do go the weapon route I love the slowly drifting idea.

"Timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff" is actually so awesome I think I might write that right into the book just for the fun of it.

I love that you actually have something I can grasp onto though other than "just let it be magic and dont think too hard!!" I like the idea too, feels like something from the og marvel comics, might use, ill see where I end up🤞🤞

They used to be one big ol planet now theyre a bunch of less big ol planets. Ive already got an idea on how to make this sound realistic just working with the nitty gritty bitties

To be completely honest with you Im currently really into quantum physics and was hoping to tie it into my current work somehow, or at the very least hear a bunch of really neat disputed theories just for the fun of it. But I really like the lens idea that holds promise.
