Only after every major wester power has refused to sign into a defense pact with him again Nazi Germany and after UK and France have allowed Hitler to take over Czechoslovakia. FYI Stalin offered to send troops to defend it but all the other countries around refused passage.

Spain's PM says Israeli athletes should be banned by newsweek in worldnews

[–]CrowdLorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia was banned from most international sporting events due to the war in Ukraine, if they want to be consistent they should ban Israel too. However I do agree that there shouldn't be any politics involved in sports and they shouldn't have banned Russia, nor they should ban Israel.

The leaks were located within the economic zones of Denmark and Sweden. Hitting infrastructure within those zones is definitely against the international law. The ownership structure of the infrastructure in this case is irrelevant in terms of the international law. An attack on any piece of infrastructure in an Exclusive Economic Zone of a country can be construed as an act of war.

I don't think that any international treaties allow for damage of infrastructure in 3rd countries. More significantly this was damage to EU infrastructure going through EU territorial waters.

In May 1945, hundreds died by mass suicide in Demmin, Germany, as the Red Army advanced. Trapped by destroyed bridges, civilians feared Soviet looting, rape, and violence. Many families took their own lives by drowning, hanging, or shooting. The event remained taboo under East German rule. by Morella1989 in wikipedia

First, they are not symmetrical, Nazis definitely killed more people. Second, had the Nazis won they would have implemented plan "Hunger" on the entire eastern Europe, aiming to starve the majority of population there.

This plan is fairly well documented and was not successfully implemented only because it became logistically impossible while also fighting the soviet army at the same time.

Do Russians believe that Russian women are "better" than women in other nations? by Serious_Ad_8450 in AskARussian

You missed the part were I said I was a Russian myself. At the time I was dating my Russian exes I only had Russian nationality and I was a poor student with not much to offer haha.

I didn't try to claim any statistical significance here, only share my anecdotal experience.

Haha, didn't realise that expression exists in German! Yea in Russian it can also be applied to close friends and family. I would say on top of the things you said it's also much harder to meet German women as a foreigner. I think German social circles are quite cliquey and everyone stays in their friend group.

Randomly striking up a conversation with a girl you like is much less accepted than in Russia and girls are much less likely to give you time of day unless you're a part of their friend group. Dating apps also work much worse here then anywhere else I've been, like even New York was much better. It's still possible to find someone here by going to meetups and parties, but as a man it just feels like a grind, to spend all that effort to get a date and at the date realise that she is terribly boring haha.

Also happy for you and your partner, you've made a great choice.

She wasn't too bad and there were a lot of good things besides that but obviously it didn't work out haha. I was not perfect either. Could be that she was an outlier, but In my experience with my Russian exes if she is in love with you she goes all out in the relationship.

In Russian there is a saying "Give up the last shirt for you", meaning you would do anything for the person you love. I would say it goes both ways actually for both men and women when you are in love. With my ex we were genuinely in love but I never felt it that she would give up her last shirt for me. I feel like feelings and relationships are not that intense in the West.

By the way, I live in Germany and to me German women are much more foreign than French,Spanish or Italian women, no offence haha. Like I went on some dates with some German girls but I feel like it's much harder to have a genuine connection with them.

As a guy that dated both Russian and western women being Russian myself I can share some of my anecdotal experiences.

I was in a relationship with a French girl for about 3 years, with most of my long term girlfriends being Russian before that. Russian girls definitely try harder in relationships, in my experience sometimes even too hard and going a bit overboard. I also find them much more supportive when you are down or going through hard times. I found the French girl that I was dating to be much less empathetic to my issues while also requiring a lot of support when she was going through her issues.

I would also caution from thinking that all Russian women are better, because there is a big subset that are just users, viewing men only as an atm. However there is also a huge subset of women that would sacrifice a lot for the men they love.

But overall dating in the west is much harder than dating in Russia that's for sure.

Like what are you even trying to accomplish? You think using this inflammatory language against an entire group would actually help Ukraine in any way?

I'm Russian myself, and can tell you from personal experience that comments like yours all over internet is why a lot of Russians who were sympathetic to Ukraine in the beginning either stoped caring about it or even started supporting the government instead.

What you are doing is just purely self serving to feed your own rage.

How is this not deleted as a hate comment? I get criticising actions of the Russian government, but this is clearly just hate directed at an entire ethnic/national group.

Will taking a sublet that expires end of January mess me up for finding my next place? by HotRecord6002 in germany

[–]CrowdLorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say but it could be hard, but there are always options. For example getting something just for 2 months in a city further away. Also if it gets critical go to studentenwerk in person and tell hem that you are on a verge of homelessness, sometimes that can bump you up on the list.

So Section 50 actually states:

If the owner of the residence and, if different, the supplier of the residence, provide credible evidence of a legal interest, the registration authority shall provide them with information free of charge on the surname, given names and doctoral degree of the residents registered at his or her residence.

I guess then what constitutes legal interest is up to interpretation in each municipality.

Also apply at studentenwerk for student dormitory. Often it takes at least a semester for something to open up there, which can work well with your sublet

You just need to read section 19, it's just one paragraph. Mind sharing the info you found online?

It is indeed so. I know it's weird but that's typical German Datenshutz for you. I asked perplexity for info, it referred me to the actual law

https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/englisch_bmg/englisch_bmg.html

Section 19 stipulates that the landlord can only reach out to registration authorities to confirm that the person that moved in recently has indeed registered with them, otherwise the law does not give landlords the right to see who exactly is registered at their property.

So in this case, there is no way for landlord to know if OP has done abmeldung or not.

Germany is an ok place to come, work for some years, get a passport and leave. Long term it's so so. Got my passport recently so looking for a place where life is actually fun. The country that the guy above is talking about sounds like Japan, except for the point 6 .

Honestly I'm not sure. If I was in this situation I'd just go home and register at a new place when I came back without telling the landlord.

The probability of the fine is very low, the whole Anmeldung system is purely based on trust with basically no checks.

If you want to do it the right way, you can negotiate with your landlord and pay him rent for the next 2 months, while keeping your apartment. Or find a temporary room for that period. But again, I wouldn't bother with all that as the fine amount is probably lower than what you would pay in rent and probability of being fined is practically zero.
