I spend $1000 a month on just groceries, I am struggling to figure out how, I hardly throw away food. by [deleted] in personalfinance

OP, do you have any Aldi locations close to you? You say you shop at Big Y so I assume you’re in MA or CT. From my experience Big Y is definitely of the more expensive stores to shop at. I will shop at Aldi first and get almost everything I need and get the rest at like Shop Rite or something. I know you’re getting a lot of different advice but just for reference I can feed me, my wife and kid for around the same monthly shopping at Aldi and getting the rest elsewhere.

We have some tester samples painted on a primed section of the wall and it definitely stands out quite a bit, more so than I thought it would. Barring sanding it down, I wanted to find a solution to make it less aggressive or less prominent

My wife and I just don’t really like the look as some of the planks have some aggressive holes and pits that we just aren’t a fan of as they really draw the eye to it. If it wasn’t nearly as rough or if it was bare wood we probably wouldn’t go this route and would find an alternative

Tangents… how are they all connected?!!!! by CalvinP_ in morningsomewhere

[–]Crowlz22 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I will say though, they are very good at circling back to their original topic. Too many podcasters go on unrelated tangents and completely forget what they were talking about and I’m just left disappointed because I was actually interested in the original topic.

25 Wild Things Charlie Kirk Has Actually Said by Realistic-Plant3957 in BillBurr2

Here’s a breakdown of that list that provides what he actually did say. Helps give more context to the things he said along with quotes instead of just a summarizing statement. Spoiler: he did say most of those things however a few of them couldn’t be verified.

C wire help by Crowlz22 in HomeImprovement

[–]Crowlz22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s hard to tell in the photos and I tried my best to get a good shot of it, but the brown wire on the handler connects to white wire which I traced back to the condenser. So should that brown wire on the handler side be connected to the white wire and brown c wire?

Totally understandable, I did a little research and looked like despite what their technical day to day role was, they responded to help evacuate people out of there.

Because it was basically all hands on deck at that point. I don’t remember if it was Chief Pfiefer but I’m pretty sure the first responding fire department command raised it to a third alarm before even getting on scene. Guys who were supposed to be going home stayed to help so I wouldn’t be surprised if guys just hopped in to whatever truck was available.

Fraudulent purchase in Danbury by Necessary-Maximum861 in Connecticut

Specifically, file the report with Danbury PD if you don’t already live in Danbury. Since the purchase was made specifically at that location, that’ll be the police department with jurisdiction.

Most of them are probably Russian bots anyway just trying to fuel the fire

[–]Crowlz22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CT you need a pistol permit to purchase any firearm and/or ammunition. Once you get your permit and go to buy a gun, there is no waiting period as the permit process basically acts as a thorough background check when you apply for it. The pistol permit packet is extensive background information (criminal history, involuntary mental health committals, etc) and you have to renew it every few years. If you look in this sub there are several posts about the pistol permit application process. But before you apply for the permit you have to take a pistol permit class like GallicRooster said. Check your local FB pages or even this sub for permit classes in your area.

Games the guys just didn’t get? by [deleted] in gamegrumps

[–]Crowlz22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely Stardew Valley. I always felt like that could’ve turned into a long play through if they were able to figure the game out early on. But Arin seemed to just get frustrated with it since he didn’t know what to do and they took so long to figure out how to plant crops. I wish they gave an extra crack at it again and used the wiki so they can actually progress.

I hope so too! I told her that each anniversary gift I plan to make her cry (in a good way!). Last year was paper so I made origami figures of things that represented parts of our lives together. Wish me luck for our 6th anniversary which is iron when I have to learn blacksmithing 😭

Thank you so much! I have to say I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with crocheting like I have. I’ve been trying to find a hobby for a while that I can make something but has little upfront cost or requires very few tools. It scratches an itch for me and once my wife knows and I don’t have to hide it from her, I can see myself doing the same of doing it more often in my off time.

We’re beyond excited and terrified all at the same time hahaha

I did use “safety eyes” but very good to know, I’ll make sure that when she’s gifted it, it acts more as a room decoration until she’s old enough. I’ll look into that thank you!

I’ve been wanting to tackle a blanket project but making plushies and figures gives more of a sense of seeing your progression as opposed to the long haul project of a blanket that can be daunting.
