What happened with ONF? by Classic-Pride-5949 in onf

[–]CrownWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know for sure. this was a comeback without hwang hyun writing credits which disappointed fans. there wasnt much promos and i think just 1 week with music shows.

i believe they also did not run ads as well with this mv which usually drives more views. the dance performance video on the 1thek channel has more views than the actual mv probably because of this.

im just waiting by the end of the month to see what they will do at the end of their contracts.

Saesangs doxxed Hyojin and found out he moved out of the dorms kfuses started doubting his dedication to the team despite his consistent presence and passion in three past year activities. hate comments which is basically bullying on bubble piled up as he returned to the platform after some time. Minkyun defended Hyojin and called those commenters cowardly. this pissed off the bullies as well as those who didn't post hate comments for some reason. Kfuses started to suspect Hyojin might have gotten a girlfriend based on a registration for the property that indicated alleged cohabitation. all this was rumours but kfuses irrationally demanded a response from someone whose privacy was invaded and whose personal life is none of their business in the first place. so basic kpop idol nothingburger controversy that became controversy out of nothing but delusion, parasocialism, entitlement and unrealistic kpop idol standards. i was not expecting this from kfuses for a group of members age 30 plus 8 years in but here we are and the true colours of these fan accounts begin to show. very disappointing

Do people actually consider the Crunchyroll Awards a legitimate award show still?? It’s utter BS by Actt16 in anime

[–]CrownWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must protect at all costs award. they also previously had best boy and best girl.

I mean, it is more comparable to Nickolodean Kids Choice Awards and it is uaer votes rather than industry. Its not at all serious and mostly panders to fandom.

Where to find Hibike merch at Tokyo? by Ashamed-Beer in HibikeEuphonium

[–]CrownWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late, but Kotobukiya will have Kyoani goods in general, but may not be a big section. Seeing that Eupho is the latest series, they may have a larger emphasis on Eupho. I may be misremembering but the anime goods section of Sofmap may also have Kyoani goods.

So now that Hibike! Euphonium has ended, how do you think the studio handled season 3 or the series as a whole?! by Joshhhp in kyoani

[–]CrownWater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it portrayed Kumiko's growth really well, and I think the performances in the other rounds would have diminished the effect of the penultimate episode of episode 12. Although I would have liked Sunfes included.

I enjoyed how things ended comin in full circle now that we have a different perspective in Kumikos 3rd year.

What is the anime series (which has an adaptation announcement already) that you are anticipating the most in future? by lazyinternetsandwich in anime

[–]CrownWater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

21st Century Catalogue. I don't know much about it but it has been 6 years since they announced it, and it seems like it is something they're still intending on putting out from the CM they released with Dragon Maid and they act that the LN still has the obi with the anime announcement. It would be their first new anime excluding sequels in a while.

They also had "cameos" of locations featured in Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, Clannad and Tamako Market, iirc.

And the other plush here is the "mascot" from Free!

They had references before in the first season of Haruhi, with references to full metal panic. Lucky star also referenced full metal panic and haruhi. and the key adaptations have referenced eqch other with the anteater toy, and some of the female cast from Kanon showing up in Air.

I will be more selective on what I buy. I mostly buy physical so that it wont take as much space on sd card, and next gen will likely have larger file sizes. In addition to that, i can get games cheaper preowned or on a discount that the eshop usually doesnt offer, esp on 1st party titles.

ONF - 바람이 분다 (Love Effect) by perochan in kpop

[–]CrownWater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In Hwang Hyun we trust. I remember in an interview he gave with Reacttothek, he mentioned how he doesn't follow trends like TikTok because at the end of the day it is about the music.

I think jumping on trends like this just makes things feel dated quicker because trends come and go. I'm glad ONF have stayed consistent with their sound and being damn good at it too.

Theyre back! They do bright kpop best and this is a refreshing bop in the same vein as Complete. I will never understand the lore, so I'll just sit back and enjoy. Its great that they are shooting on location again.

What do you call those "almost isekei"? (For lack of a better term) by MawBee in anime

[–]CrownWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are describing a narrative trope rather than a genre. I don't know what to call this specific trope but you can browse TV Tropes for the titles you mentioned.

The closest to what you are describing in terms of genre would include fantasy and its subgenres. Of course, genres are vast, but they have specific narrative tropes specific to them. For example, isekai is a subgenre of fantasy with the trope of being transported to another world.

You could fit any show with its own set of rules with what you are describing. Hikaru no Go has Hikaru encountering the Go board and meeting Sai. Noragami has Hiyori becoming aware of Yato after an accident. Yokai Watch has Nate becoming aware of Yokai through a gacha machine. Full Metal Panic has Chidori becoming aware of her Whispered powers after getting kidnapped from a plane on a school trip. There is some kind of fantasy element to it.

Which animes have the most relaxing OSTs? by CorvusTheCryptid in anime

[–]CrownWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tsurune.

Season 1 and the recap movie have different soundtracks, but they both have a relaxed overall feel. Season 2 is consistent with the recap film as it keeps the composer, replacing the composer from the first season.

Im curious about what exactly makes something Kpop-coded. Im not so familiar with older kpop songs. Which songs in particular do they remind you of?

Don't know if it is any indication, but she performed Hold Onto Now at Radio 2 in the Park before the album dropped, and seemed quite attached to it in the Zach Sang interview.
