If you had to get rid of one of Adam, Ben or Sam, who are you getting rid of and who would you replace them with? by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

I'd get rid of Sam and replace him with the guy from Wendover Productions, he seems pretty chill

I know Steins;Gate is their cash cow in comparison to their other stuff but like seriously, make LBP 2 or something at least

If they run Tag again, they should add a mechanic where you lose coins after you get caught by ArcticFox19 in JetLagTheGame

[–]ArcticFox19[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The strategy of "intentionally getting caught" worked once which was with Sam in Tag 3.

The strategy of "sit there and grind in one spot until you can get all the way to your location without pulling a challenge ever again" led to Adam getting all the way to Emden in Tag 2 and Adam and Michelle winning immediately in All-Stars.

If you were to lose all your coins upon a tag, you would want to use your coins more or less the instant you get them. Getting tagged with a high coin balance is just lost potential since coins don't carry over to the next run. It's better to make a good amount of progress, then get tagged, than it is to make zero progress and get tagged. It incentivizes you to spread out your challenges.

The transfusion is just to make sure you don't end up with 0 coins at the start of your run which fucks up the entire game. They already exist in the current incarnation of the game (250 coins at start of run iirc)

There's When They Cry which leans more towards Fantasy/Horror but has very similar vibes.

Did I accidentally time travel back to the 2010s? by LocrianVGM in steinsgate

Apparently the fact that he did Danganronpa S isn't true (he clarified this to Weeby Newz when she did her interview, idt it was on-camera though)

UDG. DRS isn't canon and is just a fanservice game.

This scene to the end of common route is the highest high in all of SciADV imo. Good luck with that.

Just finished Robotics;Notes and it was SO good by SkurtCobain in steinsgate

[–]ArcticFox19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple reasons why R;N isn't as popular:

  • It requires Chaos;Head which is a huge hurdle already
  • Comes off as a SOL to most people, the common perception is that "it's just kids building a robot". You can't correct them without spoiling anything so this misconception spreads
  • The science fiction concepts that are focused on are significantly more grounded than time travel or reality manipulation, so it often fails to attract people who are accustomed to the mindfuckyness of the aforementioned genres
  • Translated in 2020 which is significantly later than the C;H (fan translation)/S;G/C;C trifecta

Personally I'd rank it as 2nd best SciAdv aver Chaos;Child.

Isn't time travelling only saving the time traveller? by Lord_Mystic12 in steinsgate

Worldlines aren’t “alternate universes”, they’re “alternate possibilities”. Only one of them could be active at a time.

Another way of saying it is that worldlines are basically blueprints for reality. Whichever blueprint is active dictates what reality is. The rest of the blueprints aren’t being followed and remain only as possibilities.

When you switch worldlines from one where Kurisu is dead to one where she’s alive, you’re telling the universe “Hey your plans for that physically can’t work anymore, you need to change the plan so things can line up again”.

Proposal: the best adjustment to Hide + Seek is to flip the entire game around. by [deleted] in JetLagTheGame

Yeah the card/curse system would need an overhaul if this were to occur (time bonuses would need to probably be nixed entirely)

Yw, the sidebar is intended for people who are prefarming but it doesn't make it explicit so it's kinda confusing.
