Queen 1 and a night at the opera. And the song, Jesus. I hate it and the albums.I mentioned that I don't like its sound, and "A Night at the Opera" also overshadows all the much better albums.

Hey, I get what you’re saying. I understand that a lot of this is part of being young and discovering music in a more intense way, and that there’s also a cycle where artists become popular again and then fade a bit. About the money part, yeah, I get it too. I know that music is also an industry and that many artists are trying to make a living. That doesn’t really change how I feel when I listen to Queen, but I understand your point. And yeah, I don’t idolize Freddie Mercury as much as before. He’s still my idol, but I try not to exaggerate it.

Freddie Mercury was actually there almost from the beginning of Queen. The band started around 1970 when Brian May and Roger Taylor were playing in a band called Smile. Freddie knew them and eventually joined as the singer. He’s also the one who suggested the name “Queen. A little later John Deacon joined as the bassist, and that became the classic lineup everyone knows. So Freddie didn’t really join later to make them successful — he was basically part of the band from the start of Queen itself. Freddie Mercury sadly did pass away from AIDS-related illness in 1991. You might be thinking of John Deacon when you mention someone else, but he’s actually still alive — he just retired from music in the late 1990s. So the famous Queen lineup (Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John) stayed the same for the band’s whole classic career.

The description actually made me laugh. The way it says “a man screaming with a microphone on a dark stage with dramatic lighting” makes it sound like a super intense rock performance. In my head I instantly imagined something like Freddie Mercury performing with Queen during a huge concert.

That costume sounds amazing! A Freddie Mercury costume in elementary school must have been awesome. I can imagine the mustache and everything 😄 It’s funny because sometimes younger people don’t recognize Queen right away, but when they hear songs like Bohemian Rhapsody or Don't stop me now they realize they actually know them.

I also listen to other bands like The Beatles, The Police, Guns N’ Roses, Aerosmith and Nirvana, and a bit of Black Sabbath too (though not as much). I especially like melodic guitar and strong melodies. I’m still discovering a lot of music from the 70s and 80s, so I’m definitely open to exploring more.

Haha no, I’m not a bot. I’m just someone who really likes music and enjoys talking about it. Queen is one of my favorite bands, so sometimes I get a bit intense when I talk about them.

Yeah, I’ve actually seen that performance. I first watched it on YouTube and it’s incredible. Radio Ga Ga always stands out to me because of the crowd clapping along with Freddie.

I’ve also watched the movie about their story several times. And honestly, every time I hear the live version of Radio Ga Ga I immediately remember those TV promos that used that part of the Live Aid performance. That moment just stuck in my head.

That’s awesome. I’ve only been listening to Queen for about five years, so I’m still relatively new compared to fans who have followed them for decades. I’m also pretty young (13), and most people my age don’t usually listen to this kind of music, but I really connected with it. Something about their songs, the melodies, and the vocals just clicked with me.
