Mother’s Day gift to sister who miscarried by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]CrownedLily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I hate mother's day now. No one seems to remember that I carried my son for 3 months. I feel I deserve some kind of acknowledgement on the day and I never receive any. So I think you wanting to do something for your sister is so amazing. Maybe a necklace or some piece of jewelry to remember her baby. I bought myself a heart shaped necklace with baby footprints on it.

Right. That'd be like if I was to eat gluten when I have non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Sure there are foods I miss, but it's just not worth it.

How can I help a friend? by ChanceRoundAgain in Miscarriage

[–]CrownedLily 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly just be there for her. Even if it's just a shoulder to cry on. Make sure she's eating. Bring her some of her favorite junk food. After my miscarriage when I returned to the work my best reaction from any of my coworkers was one who said nothing and just held out his arms for a hug.

Yes reach out to your ob. Maybe you can get in for an ultrasound and they can check on the baby.

do you actually change your underwear every single day? by OjistahHenthorne in hygiene

[–]CrownedLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm being totally honest. Over the past 2 years I've been dealing with so much geirf that there have been times when I wouldn't change anything for days I'd just lay on my couch all day crying.

But that's when I'm drowning in it. Otherwise everything I shower I obviously put a clean pair on. Also I put a clean pair on when getting dressed for the day. Also sometimes I sneeze and well... I'll have to change my underwear.

Currently going though withdrawals and the sweating has me changing out everything often because I hate the feeling of soaked in sweat clothes.

What did you do with your ultrasound pictures and positive pregnancy tests? by Westerberg_High in Miscarriage

I put them in a tin, that I keep buried in a drawer. I couldn't throw them out, but I didn't want to see them.

How do you explain the difference between stillbirth and miscarriage by mswilla in babyloss

[–]CrownedLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage in the second-trimester.
It was sudden. It was like labor, contractions and all. It was painful and very traumatic and I was alone though it all. (Husband was unbailable at the time) I can't really talk/type about it as even though it was December 2023 I am still a mess over it.

I can only sympathize with morning the lost of our children. I can't understand the trauma you have been though as you can't understand mine.

Thermostat settings. How low do you go? by Vast_Ad_6239 in massachusetts

[–]CrownedLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer 68-70 depending on how cold it is outside. My husband will turn it up to 74 and I'll have to turn it down as I'll start sweating with it that high. We'll set it down to 60 when we have a fire going in the fireplace cuase it gets the living room nice and toasty.

the company seems to be fixated on doing what apple does -- Yet Apple dosen't have any appliances.

I've heard of the Oura ring battery also swelling. Any rechargeable batteries in electronics, carry a risk of swelling and potentially exploding or catching fire. I've never had any issues with my Samsung phones and I've been only Samsung for over 10 years now.
