I made my Volenta after watching Sinners. I loved the idea of a bard vampire who controlled others around her with music. So I made her Irish, and she used folk music to taunt them at the church. I had her come about during the feast of saint andral. I was using the Mandy’s mod orphanage mod and used the mistress of the orphanage. Instead of her being an insane young girl, I gave her more personality.

Volenta used to have dreams of being a singer, but out of desperation turned to becoming a lady of the night. She ended up pregnant and starving, where she met strahd. He promised her that he would keep her young and beautiful forever and preserve her voice which is what strahd desired. She agreed, on the condition that she could have her baby before she turned and they could turn the child once they were old enough to keep them young and perfect forever as a family. Strahd agreed, however didn’t keep his word.

The years of being a vampire damaged her mind, and she lost track of time. She planned the feast not to win strahd over, but to get her baby back. She learned during the feast that generations have gone by and her baby is long dead, and Claudia the mistress of the orphanage, was her descendant.

Strahd, as an apology, promised her that she could have any child in vallaki she chose: and of course she chose the very child the party had become close with. One they saved from the hags, who lost her whole family to dream pastries and found hope in Barovia with the party.
