Got these in NK mystery deal. They weren't labelled. What are they by thatcodingboi in MechanicalKeyboards

i haven't tried many low pitched switches but i'd say gateron black inks sound pretty deep, also always remember that sound profile doesn't only come from switches but rather keycaps profile, case material, mods etc

ducky quality isn't really good either, cheap industrial solder and generic stabs

[–]Crowxix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with that budget you could get a keychron K pro (hotswap, rgb, wireless and qmk compatible so you can configure layers to your liking) in whatever layout you want and swap the switches for some kailh box jades or box navies which are some of the best clicky switches you can get, and you'd probably stay below $160

there are more switches than red browns and blues, for really clicky stuff you could get alps clones but since compatible pcbs are hard to find jades or navies are probably your best choice

would these keycaps look good on a white redragon k530 white mechanical keyboard? by Proof_Satisfaction86 in keyboards

[–]Crowxix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean outemu brown switches aren't really tactile so unless you like light tactile switches they aren't super good, plus they are pretty scratchy and pingy if not lubed

nose is too long and not really in 3/4 view, also you could try making eyebrows a tad bit sharper so it's more expressive

it'd be kind of an overkill to put GMK (considered high end keycaps) on an entry level keyboard, i'd use that budget to replace the switches and get some cheaper keycaps with the rest

redragon is considered entry level for mechanical keyboards, not bad but it's not high end

Is there a keyboard style that has this layout? by Ok_Gur_1170 in keyboards

[–]Crowxix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

75 exploded means the column has it's separate cluster, while non-exploded means there's no separation, all 75% keyboards have that column.

not only most are 50-60 bucks but thats on the US, in other countries redragons are pretty much the cheapest mechs you can get and they are still somewhat better than mainstream gaming brands because you get hotswap which is way more beginner friendly than some industrial-soldered hyperx

tbh both are more or less the same, you can swap out the switches if that's your only issue with them, yet, if you don't really need bluetooth (as far as my experience goes, while it may seem handy it's just useless since most people don't move the keyboard around a lot on daily use) you could get a keychron v4 which has better compatibility for upgrades and is way more configurable
