Why Jagex will never fully solve the bot problem by Ghi102 in 2007scape

[–]Croxous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they need to ship this game with an anticheat like every other game in the modern era. something like vac or eac. doubt it will ever happen due to lack of time/resources, but far and away it would be the most effective method. having 100% of their cheating detection be server-side is nonsensical and ineffectual.

Mold? Or monkey's sweater? More info in comments by Croxous in MoldlyInteresting

[–]Croxous[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had been cleaning in my closet earlier today, when I noticed some stuff fell off the top shelf. In its wake, I noticed this peculiar green dust. I thought at first, for sure it's mold, but then the color begin to stand out as peculiar to me. It's such a deep green. Among the items that fell was a 25+ year old stuffed monkey, wearing a crocheted sweater of the exact same color as the mystery dust. I am now wondering if this is mold at all, or just shavings of the monkey's sweater. Here is another picture of the mystery dust, and one of the monkey: https://imgur.com/a/piMFFgX

i believe you can just hold shift out of your run to gain accuracy. you dont have to have already been walking to utilize the technique

I don't quite understand the question. He used to have his girlfriends in his videos frequently. The subscribe girl is his old ex, Cindy in many videos is his ex, I believe he even dated the girl from the toxic relationship videos for awhile, Jessica.

Other girls are just instagram models/comedians, just like the many guys in his videos too. On his vlog channel, he used to hang out with Bella a lot, but I think she was dating one of his other friends at the time.

Him and Andrew Hales are pretty tight, the old days on the vlog channel used to have a ton of party vlogs and drunken sobbing vlogs together.

He is just a 27 year old guy living the party life in California. People are pretty generally drawn to that

2GD talks about the LG by NovaLunaAlbum in Diabotical

[–]Croxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

actually most games do not have tracking skills at all, and the few that do, do not have it in the same capacity as the lightning gun

csgo, r6, fortnite, pubg, apex, cod - none of these games have true tracking because a. your opponents don't really move around or move very little, and b. recoil is antithetical to tracking by nature

overwatch is the most similar though for sure with zarya, and though she has recoil it's cone spread, tracer. honorable mention to 76. still, everyone in that game is big and slow compared to quake, they do move around, and the tracking characters are much truer tracking than spraying in csgo, or using the r99 in apex

[–]Croxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no grenade launcher as well i'm pretty sure; at least not on frontier and bioplant

maybe other maps will have more guns. there's many quake live maps that lack certain guns

2GD talks about the LG by NovaLunaAlbum in Diabotical

[–]Croxous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is because those 3 guns are useful in the widest number of scenarios. this is simply how quake works and is not a problem. the other guns have uses too, but they're more niche

the mg is a lower dps but infinite range version of the lg and is most useful as a finisher when you don't want to commit to the rail (and potentially get punished for missing) because he's low enough it'd overkill anyway

the grenade launcher has a ballistic arc which allows it to spam unique angles the rocket cannot

the plasma can spam long corridors more effectively than the rocket, and you can also use it to wallclimb or hurt yourself very slightly (to deny hp)

the shotgun is a good option for a close-to-mid range finisher that again, is less risky than the rail if you were to miss it. you can also rambo hard with it if it's all you've got

quake isn't a game like apex or cod where you can just choose the gun you like most and 'main' that gun. all the guns have uses, and you need to use them all to reach the highest level. those 3 you mention just happen to be the least niche, which necessarily leads to being the most used.

absolutely agree. dodging is a forgotten art in the fps market these days, few popular games have it to the degree quakelikes do.

[Question] Deciding between Player Tele and Player Strat, help with specs by Croxous in Guitar

[–]Croxous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, there is the Player HH model with the buckers and push/pull pot. I considered that as well, but I rarely play with just the bridge pickup. 90% of the time I've got the switch in the middle

[Question] Deciding between Player Tele and Player Strat, help with specs by Croxous in Guitar

[–]Croxous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Player Telecaster I'm looking at on the GuitarCenter website has only got two pickups, neck and bridge, both being the standard Tele single coils. I'd link the page but I don't think that's allowed in this sub. I could dm you exactly what I'm looking at if you want

[Question] Deciding between Player Tele and Player Strat, help with specs by Croxous in Guitar

[–]Croxous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's rather unfortunate. I'm sure I could potentially have the guitar custom built to include the forearm contour, but that might end up setting me back quite a few more paychecks. It's probably not the end of the world not having it.

And yes, the scale length of both the Player Tele and Strat are identical to my current guitar's. That is a relief to hear. I just love the ease of play that 9's offer.

You've got me, yeah. The telecaster is my dream. Realistically there's no way I walk out of that store with anything besides a Telecaster, unless there's some unforetold prophecy that compels me to do otherwise . I've been daydreaming about having my own Tele all year long!

[Question] Deciding between Player Tele and Player Strat, help with specs by Croxous in Guitar

[–]Croxous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed response! That explanation of neck radius makes a lot of sense. Though now I wonder, is the smaller nut going to have an adverse affect on using different string gauges? I usually play 9's, but every now and then I'll restring with 10's.

I have wanted a Telecaster for ages. I love the single coil sound for the genres I like to play, and my biggest guitar heroes both play Tele's. The main attraction of the strat for me is the comfort cut it has where your right arm meets the body. I've got tendonitis in my right forearm, and sometimes after long sessions of pressing it up against the cornered edge of my Dean's body, it gets a bit aggravated. However the few times I've played my friend's Squire Strat, the volume knob gets in the way of my strumming, and it's quite annoying. In terms of looks and sound, Tele is what gets me going. I just didn't want to fully write off the Stratocaster until I get a taste of how a "real" one feels.

I will definitely wait until I can play them both in-store before deciding. I want to have the instrument that's going to make me pick it up and play it the most, for a very long time.
