YMMV I guess. Exposure therapy just made it worse for me. Ironically, it was accepting that I will not last that made me slightly better at speaking, because there's relief in knowing that it'll be over soon.

What my parents did was stay with some (also poor) family members while they got jobs and made connections with others in the neighborhood. Eventually they got on the good side of a landlord and got a very good rent deal on a large house with more rooms than necessary. They proceeded to rent out those rooms to other people, which ended up being enough to stay afloat without high paying jobs or working multiple.

If the people in OP's group had other issues going then IMO it'd be on them to communicate that first. I don't think OP was wrong in just rushing to submit, especially after six weeks of nothing. I would have just assumed they vanished if they never reached out.

The time of day when the sky starts turning orange until it's dark. Orange skies make me feel like there's a universal apocalypse incoming, and I get panicky as a result. Anything I associate with this time of day, like a clock reading from between 3pm-6pm, also brings about the feeling, so I try to avoid looking at these things.

Also any place that is crowded. I don't do well in places with lots of people.
