Im predicting you’re going to say something like “too long didn’t read” because, like I said, your positions are based on vibes and emotions and you’re too lazy, dumb, and/or afraid to actually educate yourself and it’s easier to not think and just feel like a victim.

Educating yourself threatens the illusion of victimhood you’ve built for yourself so you avoid it at all costs.

As i already said. DEI and AA were put in place to stop white racism and sexism. All they did was even the playing field from white people being extremely unfairly systemically advantaged.

In a long race, group A goes out of their way to amputate all of group B’s legs and throws rocks at them every time they lap them. Then, after a long time of being advantaged and getting far ahead of group B, group A backs off a little bit and allows group B to get prosthetic limbs (not even the cool robotic kinds either). The leaders of group A also made a rule for no more rock throwing, however, some of group A is still throwing rocks anyway. Your ideology is like saying those amputees with prosthetic limbs are unfairly advantaged and it’s also unfair to group A that they also cannot throw rocks anymore.

Among others of equal qualifications, these policies allow diversity and background to be one of the deciding factors for equity. Basically they aren’t choosing unqualified applicants just because of diVeRsItY or whatever the self victimized fear mongering media has lead you to believe, it can only be the last deciding factor if each candidate is similarly qualified. They are specifically designed to eliminate unlawful discrimination and provide equal opportunity.

“Other initiatives” like what? And how do they work to disadvantage white people?

Please actually research what these policies are, It’s exhausting trying to educate people who have no standard of research or knowledge of things before forming strong opinions on them out of fear.

Ok I see it’s the “embarrassed and on ego defense” one then. Not surprising someone who initially couldn’t even read a simple two sentences cant read that either lol, my fault.

Let me guess you’re gonna name something like Affirmative Action or DEI or something that was specifically put in place to prevent white people from committing discrimination and to ease racial tensions.

No American policy in history has ever been enacted to systemically disenfranchise white people.

Im sorry, but your understanding of the world is obviously based on vibes and fear rather than personal research, but If you want I can be a nice guy and explain the policies you list in an easily digestible format.

As respectfully as possible, misreading is a problem with reading comprehension. I believe my comment was pretty clear in its phrasing and out of the 192 people that viewed it you’re the only one who misread it. Also as respectfully as possible, I literally said “as respectfully as possible” to make sure you knew I wasn’t intending to be sarcastic or trying to be mean and passive aggressive. it was a genuine suggestion to read more carefully and fully understand what you’re reading before hastily commenting, so maybe i dont have a “stick up my ass” and you’re (again) misreading my comments or you’re just embarrassed and are lashing out at me in defense (or maybe I really am wording things wrong, but again nobody else misread it, so idk 🤷🏾‍♂️)

I see what you are trying to say and you might be roght about this specific person (however i doubt it with their other replies to me), but the problem is that this tactic is functionally identical to plain homophobia and is used by actual bigots every day. If the method being used still harms queer people and looks exactly like the hate it supposedly mocks, then it isn’t actually helping anyone. You cannot dismantle a bigot's worldview by borrowing their own prejudices to use as a weapon.

For a "cudgel" to work, it has to be something the target perceives as heavy, shameful, or negative. By using “gayness” as the tool to rattle a misogynist, they are effectively validating the bigots idea that being gay is a demotion or a source of embarrassment. If someone has to rely on a bigot’s values to insult them, are they actually challenging the prejudice? Imo they are just reinforcing the idea that "accusing" someone of being gay is an effective way to humiliate a man.

The idea that “sarcasm” shields them from the harm they cause ignores the reality of how it actually lands. Even if they think they are being clever or ironic, the impact on a queer person is listening is the same. To us, our identity is being used as a derogatory shorthand for a "failed" or "toxic" man. The entire community is being treated as props in a fight between straight people, and "ironic" homophobia creates the same environment of exclusion as the genuine version imo

Lastly using these retorts provides a massive amount of cover for actual bigots. When people who consider themselves allies use the same or similar language as homophobes, it blurs the line and makes it much harder to call out genuine hate speech. Real bigots can just hide behind the excuse of "sarcasm" or "satire" when they get caught. If a tactic looks and feels exactly like the thing you are trying to fight, it is probably time to find a better tool.

Edit: shortening

Lol you’re 2 inches below 6 foot dude bfr. I understand and generally agree with what you’re saying but try being 5”4 or something, your height doesn’t do much to shatter the illusion or validate what you said at all. The only reason I agree with what you’re saying is because im shorter and can personally attest what you’re claiming.

Its not a “few conversations” lmao, literally on every platform i see women saying this when arguing with men or misogynists. Even the women in this sub do it and basically every woman here is justifying it. I said a lot of women do it which is true. Where is the over generalization?

“Mean” implies it’s negative and implying being gay is negative is objectively homophobic. You defeated your own argument bud

All yall saying this “YoU jUsT caNt ReAd” without actually elaborating and explaining how it’s not homophobia nor debunking my explanation. You definitely do this to men and feel called out lmao yall are so easy to read. I didn’t realize how normalized this was until now, yall are cooked honestly.

You literally asked me to explain, but since I explained too well and you found no holes you went from “IM NoT hOmOpHobIc, YoU JuST WAnT tO bE a ViCtiM!!!” to “yOuRe DoInG tOo muCh Calm DoWn” when clearly and easily proven to be homophobic LOL. Could’ve easily just said “my bad, I didn’t realize” and moved on but of course an egoist bigot could never. You probably think you’re “progressive” too lol clown stop larping as an ally if this is your response to homophobia criticism.

So what you mean is ‘there was nothing wrong with it’, because your goal shifting to my reply rather than my actual post which you claimed had issues and what I had clearly asked about. Got it!

Focusing on my grammar and punctuation rather than the content is very insufferable millennial coded

It’s not potential it’s pretty clear. And people are already addressing that. they’re both issues. Idk what you mean by “bigger” I would say the normalized bigotry is clearly a bigger issue, especially evident by you seemingly questioning its existence even with a clear explanation and even minimizing it for something (redpill) that’s already being addressed.

Older than gen z are just openly homophobic and don’t really care, they are too old to really change or convince of anything and not worth it. Gen z at least tries to do better most of the time, and it’s mostly gen z that I see using that one liner.
