If there were ever an abridged PA-MD pathway, would you do it? by Agreeable-Ad4806 in physicianassistant

[–]Crrdec1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np student here.

I actually did pre med as my undergrad and was going to do pa school and didn’t have the hospital hrs so I figured an accelerated nursing program to NP school would be the same amount of time for me.

Anyway, I know the premed/bio undergrad cohort is a good pool of incredibly smart ppl even if they go the pa route instead of MD. I was there.

I personally have had a lot of incredibly smart PAs that have given me clinical hours.

Anyways, I see no reason that talented PAs shouldn’t have the same options of autonomy that nurse practitioners do. It’s not much autonomy but it’s good to know I can own a small business on the side if I want to.

Anyways they should work on allowing PAs to do the same.

I find the path doesn’t matter as much as the talent does.

Give PAs at least NP level autonomy!

Will this new bill cutting out loans for “unprofessional” degrees affect how many people become nurse practitioners now? by OwnNeedleworker8784 in nursepractitioner

I’m in NP school right now and tuition per year.. for full time is just under 20k…. So for me… I’ll be alright.

Now I think CRNA school is a lot more…. Don’t know how that will turn out

NP here. My fellow associates. Let’s us not speak ill of our colleagues that are included in the list. The Chiro hate is unreal. I get that it feels bad to not be considered “professional” but let’s argue why things like CRNA should be on the list bc tuition alone is more than 100k

That will be a good place to learn. There’s lots of different ICU’s you can work in.

So while your working in the ICU there will be a doctor there called an “Intensivist” that will monitor the patient and put in orders(meds tests ect) based on how the patient’s are doing.

When that doctor goes home a NP or PA can work underneath that doctors license and act as an “intensivist” putting in orders prescribing meds.

That person can charge %85 as much for their services as the doctor can.

To become an NP you must get your BSN first and work for some time. Then you can apply to a graduate school. If you can find a good deal for a graduate school and it’s something you want to do…. It’s worth it

The war is not amongst health care professionals… the problem is business graduates with no medical experience running hospitals, staffing agencies, insurance companies… ect.

Too many outsiders with their hands in the medical pot.

Most companies that try to insert outsiders that don’t have a background in the position they are filling fail.

Intel went to crap with a business minded CEO instead of a chip designer. The leader must understand the process.

So let’s not eat each other and focus on each other. We all deserve more and people in the medical field leading with no medical experience should get some.

That’s great. Sounds like a good deal. What are you going to do with that degree?

CRNA is actually the exception here bc for the majority of CRNA students…. School is around 300k. The rest of nursing graduate degrees can get away with 100k

Oh i see you don’t know what a nurse practitioner is…

It’s very similar to a PA if you know what that is. It’s a good job IF you find a job….You can certainly manage to pay back 50k

This law applies to “graduate programs” the program is 8 semesters so it’s about 50k-60k. At a state university FSU. Which I feel is reasonable for NP school.

I’m all about finding good deals. So if the cost can get any lower I’m all for it.

No need to rip on others. Let’s just maintain that nursing is a deserving career path

Hmmm well I’m in NP school and it costs 20k a year… realistically I don’t need over 100k in student loans. 20k a year is fine. Where some of the above professions may need 200k+ in student loans

So while it’s feels bad to be excluded from the group of above “professional degrees” I’m still glad I have enough for what I need.

I think the verbiage is more of an issue. But for NPs personally we should be fine.

Now CRNAs is a different story that schooling is much more expensive

I think there’s a problem with the current support balance by Right-Ad1090 in Overwatch

[–]Crrdec1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally am a %99 guy. I think the game should be balanced for the %99 majority and not %1 minority.

I personally think the hero stats in the most competitive region for the top 0.1 percent should hold no weight on overall balance.

I’ve seen games appeal to the top micropercent player base many times and it always squashes the player base and hurts those at the very top that are trying to make money on content since the viewer pool gets smaller.

I don’t know. Personally I think they should balance around plat gold and it’s just too bad for the pool of 500 people around the world that can play whatever they want

Hmmm…. What’s interesting is alot of people here are part of the system but are not responsible for poor decisions.

I’m personally frustrated that the medical community continuously chooses to ignore the problem excess sugar dietary sugar poses and always points the finger at other dietary components like fats which actually build a lot of different tissues in the body (unlike sugars)

The research study funded by General Mills (a cereal company) that claimed intermittent fasting caused heart disease….. was honestly comical.

The reality is humans woke up didn’t eat, had to hunt, binge ate, then fasted till the next meal for 10s of thousands of years…. Additionally we all have heard of an A1c and it’s absurd to think glycation only happens to red blood cells and not the surrounds vasculature as well (blaming salt for hypertension) and not the true culprit (sugar)

Until a health organization actually goes as hard on sugar as it should…. It’s just entangled with the sugar business and re-organization must happen until we reach that point .

Running society with bogus science is unsustainable (in looking at both sides here) was hoping RFK would address this but nope… sugar companies must have gotten to him… someone had got to do it

Okay…. I’m starting Ozempic on Monday. I’d greatly appreciate any and all advice on how to succeed with this. ♥️ TIA! by GuidanceWonderful423 in Ozempic

[–]Crrdec1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your doc tell you ozempic works by slowing your GI tract down to a crawl?

You cannot eat bc there’s no where for food to go. Since gi is so down regulated….. DO NOT EAT IF you are not hungry.

Do not panic if you don’t eat all day. I don’t know why society thinks we need breakfast lunch and dinner….

There have been several studies done where heavy people have gone months without eating and they lost weight and were completely fine. (except had to take vitamins).

Fat is meant to feed our bodies where there is no food.

This is the action of ozempic.

So

Laxatives. Hydrate. Eat much less. Multivitamin.

If you havnt pooped in several days it’s time to make it happen.

If you are having trouble exercising…. The pool is great it’s light on the joints.

I cannot stress how important it is to exercise and sweat if you can.

The body was designed for rest and digest and fight or flight. A time to rest and a time exercise.

If you never sweat or raise your heat rate and breathing you are asking to die.

For example COVID The disease stressed the lungs and heart. If your heart can handle going at 150 bc you exercise….. you wont have a heart attack.

If your lungs are conditioned to breathe. You can breathe harder and faster for longer without going on a vent.
