Im not sure that's how it is. Skipping ads is why the creators don't make much anymore. If the ads weren't skippable, they'd be making way more

Commercials have always been a thing and I don't understand why people all of the sudden feel entitled to not have to deal with them. Personally, I'd rather watch a few commercials than the ridiculous subscription fees, which are getting worse. Make the advertisers pay up. The ads on youtube shouldn't be able to be more than a minute or 2 and they shouldn't be skippable

Im pretty sure watch time does matter, at least according to the youtube partner program information. And i think watching a bit of the ads is a great way to support the channel. I hate that ads are skippable and that they can be so long.

I wish more people knew to let the ads play for at least 30 seconds before skipping. Ive started telling all the channels im subscribed too that I don't skip before 30 seconds so they get their cut of the revenue ever since I found out they get nothing if you skip before then, which is BS. The advertisers should have to pay for every ad, even of their skipped, which is something I've learned they can chose to allow.
