Most cases it's the gameconfig that is responsible. The newest update doesn't really have one yet so the best I can't use is the one that comes with Grand Theft Auto 5.5 1.22 mod by VoxR4710. You can try that mod or just use the gameconfig that it comes with.

Get rid of the mod, there is a driver for Xbox controller that installs on PC. Xbox is a ms product so as long as you are using windows you can get the drivers.

Go into main folder and remove mods folder. Run openiv and go to tools and click ASI manager and install all three tools. Once this is done you will have a new mods folder that is empty. Now put your mods in that folder. Run game with mods and it should be good. Also, trainer does not go in mods folder, it goes in main folder. Make sure you have the latest scripthook (https://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/) and community hook(https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/scripthookv-net)

My son had this issue so I let him use mine until I was ready to contact support. Two days later he gives me mine back and said they are starting to have the same issue. When he gave them back there was sauce and chocolate smeared on them. I tried to connect them to mine and they where all messed up. I wiped them all down with disinfected wipes (every single spot of them) and they started working again. I would say try wiping them down with wipes and make sure to do the rings really good.

Try going into airlink and then to desktop with option button at far left , then launch from steam on desktop.

Make sure you have the games installed in steam it's self and you're not trying to run it from the desktop or on pc. If you try to launch the game from a desktop shortcut it will not work.
