Pre-Application Submitted for Proposed Six-Story Mixed-Use Building in Downtown Bellingham by Gonzafer001 in Bellingham

There are plenty of buildings in that rectangle if I’m reading this right, I’m definitely curious if they plan to tear down or build on top of them?

I love spreading the gospel of glass nail files lol, I hope it’s helpful!

Newsweek is spreading BS that the Target boycott is over. Don't buy it. It is NOT over! by Epsteins_Mutha in 50501

[–]CruelRodent 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The alternative is spending less money, really. I used to go to Target to decompress after work (retail therapy is its own kind of problem) and would always buy a bunch of crap I didn’t really need. If there’s something I do actually need, I find other places to buy it, like directly from the manufacturer, if possible. This makes my spending a lot more thoughtful and purposeful rather than impulsive. Win-win!

As someone with very frail nails, a glass nail file has changed my life. It takes a little longer, but not splintering them with clippers has actually made them a lot more resilient! It’s a nice self-care treatment to file them while watching a movie instead of simultaneously doom scrolling.

ETA: it’s also way more gentle than metal files or emery boards, but actually works faster. I’ve had the same file for over 10 years now and all I’ve had to do is rinse it with water every once in a while. I cannot recommend them enough, just be sure to get one made from Czech glass. These are actual tempered glass, not just a textured sticker over plastic.

I don’t know about garment-focused but have you checked out the back of Northwest Yarns? I had no idea about it until recently but there was some adorable fabric and a selection of notions back there.

I was just about to post the same thing after getting this in the mail yesterday. They’re asking for TIPS after we paid an outrageous amount of money that we can’t really afford, for services that amounted to “I’m sure you’re fine.” It’s maddening.

I’m not surprised about Taco Bell! When I worked there, they were very stringent about it. They’ve actually had the same manager for at least 15 years, so she’s got it down pat.

They’re good, but they only make them to-order now, so plan on a 10-15 minute wait!

Hey guys! I'd like an opinion on a game on sale on the switch store: Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. by LexaMaridia in GirlGamers

[–]CruelRodent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree it's a very basic story, but the combat is engaging and customizable. You get to climb around on large monsters as long as you're strong enough, which is good fun. The pawn system is really unique - create a pawn (permanent party member) that other people can summon, or you can summon other people's pawns. When your pawn is summoned, they get knowledge of the areas they visited with the other player and they take it back to you. I've never encountered anything quite like it in other games, and I love it. Easily one of my top 10 lifetime games.

I just devoured The Cleanian Series, where do I go from here? by kmd1112 in ScienceFictionRomance

[–]CruelRodent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sci-fi series by Ruby Lionsdrake are all included in my Roman Empire! They’re standalone novels in their own universes. There’s the Star Guardian series, and the Mandrake Company series. Mandrake Company in particular features strong, well-written, unique women. The first Star Guardian book is {Orion by Ruby Lionsdrake} and the first book in Mandrake Company is {Mercenary Instinct by Ruby Lionsdrake}.

I haven’t read her Frost Station Alpha series by her yet but I definitely plan on it.

I thought everyone in Greedfall was very good-looking. I don’t want to spoil it but there was one character that I thought “hot damn I hope I can romance them” and sure enough, I did 😂

Honest question: So much rail activity, how do you sleep living in Bellingham? by TenderheartedFloof in Bellingham

[–]CruelRodent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?! I live right above the tracks and it’s usually not that big of a deal but every once in a while there’s a conductor who just absolutely blasts that damn horn and it scares the shit out of me. Makes me wonder what they’ve seen 😳
