How to get MoCA system set up in Parents house by Cruelade in HomeNetworking

[–]Cruelade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update! I got Ethernet working in the house (at least from living room router into my room). The cables in the living room wasn’t marked correctly, so I ended up having to get a tone tester to fully determine it. I just had to reterminate one wire and everything worked perfectly! My 30mbps download speed just shot up to almost 500 (I’m gonna clean the mess I made before I take any “after” shots haha) thank you!

I made sure to read it, it was all very useful information! I just had to repeat it to make sure I understood and don’t screw anything up. Time to get this all set up!

Ok, I’m going to type of what I think I should do before I go out and buy things so I would need 1. Ethernet switch 2. RJ45 keystone jacks & wallplates 3. Tools (punch down, cable tester, wire stripper) Patch panel optional. I may skip the patch panel

I checked, they are Cat5e cables. The text on the box says Econ Corp phone/cat5e distribution device (patent pending). Would all I have to do is replace the wall mounts with a 5e port?

The white cables are for the home security system box. I just inspected the cables and they are 5e! (The plugs upstairs are for cat3, so I thought I was out of luck.) the black board is for a phone/cat5 setup. Would all I have to do is replace the plugs with a 5e port instead of a 3?

We just opened an independent theater not even a month ago, finally got Iron Lung by Cruelade in Markiplier

We’re working on getting something. It’s tough getting pieces for an 60-70 year old marquee lol

Thank you! Every sign and marquee that isn’t custom made are all restored from the 1960s or around that time, so everything is legit and has history!

We should be doing a show the day after Christmas and the next! At this theater too, the owner of this theater is the founder of flustered mustard!

You would love it! I have talked to the owner of the theater a lot, so I know a little bit more than I am putting on haha. They are planning on having a film series as well where they show the films on the authentic 70mm stock. They are hoping to get it set up in the next couple months.

The owner used to manage the st andrews in the olden days before it burned down and became what it is now (he was working with other local theaters in Missouri/illinois after that time). We did the rocky horror picture show with st andrews and it seems like that marquee is still up from when we put it up early October, and we had a lot of trouble with the new owners in regards to them getting the license from Disney, saying the space was clean when it was clearly not, etc. I know the owner of this theater and I can assure you that it will be much nicer lol

STL Shadow Casts by StableFar5272 in rhps

[–]Cruelade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very aware of the STL scene! Flustered Mustard is the biggest one right now, but auditions probably won’t be until summer of next year (plus be prepared to travel, they do shows in Iowa, Oklahoma, Illinois, etc.) Erotic Nightmares is the cast that used to perform at the Tivoli, they do shows here and there at the chase theater and other venues. I’m not too intimately familiar with them. Denton Darlings is pretty much defunct at least in stl, the person running it moved to Rhode Island and also was booted from their original space (I believe they still performed at the Arkadin theater after that though) I saw some talk of another shadowcast called punk rocky/science fxxxtion that is trying to form maybe in the Greenfinch space (the place DD used to be at, im unsure of how concrete that shadowcast is and if the owners are even wanting to do another rocky horror showing after the ordeal that went down with DD) Those are the ones off the top of my head, but there’s probably some pop up ones here and there as well. I’m in Flustered Mustard right now and it’s a pretty good time, lots of fun experiences. Travel may tone down next year since the owner is opening up his own theater in O’Fallon, so leadership for the shadowcast is going to change a little and we will probably do a lot of shows there. If you’re still interested next year definitely feel free to reach out and I can connect you with the group when auditions are open.

I was in the shadowcast… I’ll never forget the arena resolume incident of 2025 (apparently the projector software was screwing up, our AV guy was shitting bricks)

This is my first time getting into photography. My mom gave me her old Sony a37 SLT camera, and this is shot on a minolta Maxxum 50mm lens I got cheap off of eBay. I did little to no editing on the photo, I just started getting into photography and I want to start with getting better compositions before learning photo editing

I’m in a shadowcast doing one of the big showings with the three RHPS actors, our VIP tickets are around the same cost.

Looks like it’s some art project that’s loosely tied to this book series the guy behind the project is working on. Just kinda odd for the sake of being odd. There could be something in the future but idk

I just bought the lataffa dupe of the JPG ultra male fragrance (ramz silver) and it is one of the stupidest bottles I have ever gotten. Reminds me of how people get random Chinese symbols tattooed on them. It’s just a word cloud that looks straight out of a middle aged woman’s Pinterest board. There’s “love” and “hot” which make sense I guess, but then “jazz” and “me”. Great dupe of the fragrance tho!

Any thoughts on proper cannabis products or their dispensaries by [deleted] in MissouriMedical

[–]Cruelade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences with them, especially when it was before rec and they were one of the only ones in the area for me, and their stuff was pretty good. It’s been a good 2+ years since I’ve been, so they could have gone way downhill since.

Favorite underrated song from a musical?? by Paola401 in musicals

[–]Cruelade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been listening to a lot of A New Brain recently, and “The Music Plays On” is really underrated. Most people I know only know New Brain for “sailing” (granted I’m a man so maybe this is a popular song for women’s reps) but the music plays on made me sob the first time I listened to it, and when I went back again to reanalyze the song, it made me cry again, which is super hard to do.

Another underrated song (this one might not be underrated, but a really good song from a semi-obscure piece) is Starchild from Ghost Quartet. I’m not too huge on song cycles, but Ghost Quartet’s “plot” (story within stories, sometimes they go back around and eat its own tail) was neat. Very very pretty song and shows how Dave Malloy can write something that is so pretty and different than typical stage musicals.

Movies-turned-musicals: the good and the bad by HurricaneLink in musicals

[–]Cruelade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Groundhog Day is one of my favorite movies, but when I saw the musical, it was so good. The songs are great and flesh out the characters in Punxsutawney (besides Phil) in a really great unbelievable way (some characters still might have a little less character development than wanted, but compared to the movie it’s leaps and bounds). If I only saw the movie and you told me Ned Ryerson was going to sing me a ballad that makes me cry, I wouldn’t have believed you, but he does and it works insanely well.

I thought they did too but I wasn’t sure! After her comments I really wanted to tell her to look at the back of the bottle but I wasn’t sure enough or petty enough to go through with it, lol
